  1. NY says:

i was at this camp and none of these kids were even at the camp maybe like 3 or 4 of them so how can u do a real ranking of the kids if damn near none of these kids wasn’t even there? this is definitely not accurate at all, i gotta shake my head at this list

  2. ny says:

in addition Daruis Garland, Chase Adams, and Donnovan Toatley are WAY BETTER pg’s than Marquise Walker. this list is BULLSHIT

  3. memphis says:

daruis garland hands down the best pg in da nation ….do yall damn homework…

  4. Chris Hansen says:

Whoever made this list, we need to talk

  5. H-Town Ballin' says:

what you watchin? you missing Noah Thomas from rytes. He been lightin everyone up for years. Best shooter by far and straight up athlete

    • Scout says:

Yep this kid is amazing. Just went 1-12 against the Texas Celtics Select. He Just lit us up. Haha. Really a stud.

      • H-Town Ballin' says:

You keepin his stats? Thats funny. You obviously know he can play since no other kids stats being followed that i see. Celtics beat rytes without hitting one outside shot. Guess it helps to have kids that had to be held back at least once… sad

      • MD Hoops says:

Scout you lucky he didn’t go off on you. Dropped about 30 on us and not all 3’s. Maybe he freaked out playing against your teenagers you picked up. Real good player #11. Best shooter I ever saw at that age.

        • Jim says:

Noah only hit one shot, but he is still real good. The Celtic’s defense was solid in this game and throught out the tournament. Look at the scores. We held teams to under 40 per game. The Team Ramey score was 28 to 26.

The reason for lack of 3’s is because the Celtic’s guards pass first. “Team Play” – We made the extra pass for layups. One of the guards had 8 assists in the second half.

          • MD Hoops says:

You right Jim. Rytes guards handle too much instead of moving the ball. pt guard does not set his guys up. Noah is there best passer and finisher too but they don’t get it to him in the open floor or he be twice as dangerous. Celtics ball movement is good at guard and the big men.

  6. Michigan says:

i recently seen that kid Atiba Taylor play in February’s MIT and The King James Tourney in April and that kid is truly unstoppable. the kid is about 5’8 pg/sg that can score at will and he’s a lefty. This kid is the truth

  7. Coach N says:

This list is pure comedy. I want my 5 minutes back for looking at it and the 30 seconds it took to type this note.

    ROFLMAO!!

  8. CoachDon says:

The kid Atiba is older. Suppose to be 2017 player. Held back. Don’t get it twisted.

  9. Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

this is Atiba’s dad and first off to the chic named Sheila know you shit before you open your mouth. Atiba plays with King Street Kings 11U and 12U and that was the first tournament he played with that team and that team was just put together 1 month prior to the FEB MIT and none of those kids ever played in a aau tournament except my son until then so stop trying to dis credit the kids and my son. they made it to the final 4 and lost by a buzzer beater so know your shit. whoever Coach Don is must be a clown or maybe u raised my son b/c u think you know something but you don’t know shit. my son was NEVER HELD BACK, the boy started school late b/c of my accident and my son is 11 in the 5th grade so know your shit too. dude from Michigan thx for the compliments but if someone got something crazy to say about my son email at [email protected] and i’ll give you my number and then u tell me on the phone wat u think about Atiba’s game.

    • Basketballhead says:

KSK playing in the Nationals 26 seconds remain and down 2. Where was Atiba? on the bench? A white kid hits the buzzer beater to put it in to overtime…Maybe we should back off the hype machine and let the boy play.

  10. Delaware Royalty says:

Atiba is one of best Ive personally seen on the c/o 2018 level, we’ve played against him a few times, he has given us fits over last two years… Kid is good!

    • G Money says:

James Brandon Slater listed #5 is really turning his game up. He has been super dominate this year in every tournament his team has played in. His team the Metro Sixers are going for the Gold this year and Brandon will be a great big part of their climb to the top. They call him Mr. Smooth

  11. BIG G says:

LMAOOOOOOOOO, THERE IS NO WAY CAMERON THOMPSON FROM LEFRAK QUEENS NY AIN’T ON THIS LIST. THE NEXT KENNY ANDERSON THE KID IS SERIOUS.

  12. Hoop Elite says:

There are some talented kids out there. I have personally seen 90% of these kids play over the last 3 years. I hope to these young men keep developing their games. Because the reality is that there are kids just as good or better that are not on this list. And the funny thing is the kids and the coaches know they have other good kids out there. I hope their parents learn to stay out of their way. Stop making YouTube videos of your kid. If your kid can play people will see him. Use the 10 minutes it took you to download the video to teach your sons to play better defense, use both hands, and rebound. This will get your child more recognition than any video you make. Parents less than half of these kids playing AAU at 11 years old will make their highschool team. It would be a shame if the highlight of your childs basketball life happened at 11 years old. Because they don’t grow past 5’8 or because they can’t dribble with their off hand or worse yet are academically ineligible. Let’s focus on the real and leave these bullshit rankings ALONE!

    • Keeping it real says:

Hoop Elite you are so right.

    • Sdot says:

You are absolutely correct! These parents are setting their kids up for failure and dissappointment. There is more to this game than having a mean crossover and a nice jumper, Otherwise AO and the Professor would be All Stars in the League. Ranking these kids so early places a target on these kids back. There are kids out here(not on the list) that would eat some of these kids breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack.
There are kids out here watching your sons Youtube video- plotting and practicing to humiliate your sons, and when they finally meet this kid for the first time in the 11th grade- after you have allowed your son to be rocked to sleep by being ranked top 5 in the country playing against kids that don’t move their feet defensively– He’ll quit the game- We see it all the time!

    • Honestly says:

I agree with u on most things, but parents don’t have to stop making videos of their kids on YouTube. It’s all fun, if the parents don’t do it who will? My son is ranked on some of these national rankings, & I know that it don’t mean shyt, but it does make me a lil proud that someone thinks of him to be on their list. Keep up the support parents, it plays a big factor

    • Concerned Parent says:

So, agree. Too much selfish play that focuses on the AND1 to make the highlight reel. Good teams play as teams and sacrifice themselves for the good the team and play great defense.

  13. Marcus Jr says:

There is no way MARKQUIS NOWELL from NY Gauchos ; He Ran Threw Chase Adams In Takeover Elite In New Jersey !!! He Had 30 The first Game And 21 The Second Game . Chase Adams Had 7 The first Game And 10 The Second .. Look Out For MARKQUIS NOWELL From NY Gauchos 11u

    • Hoop Elite says:

This is a classic example of why parents must focus on their child’s development. The last two years at nationals Chase was a human highlight reel. Markquis was an better than average player that was overshadowed by the other two players on the Gauchos. Markquis has grown, developed his skills and become an elite point guard in this age group. I saw him dismantle We All Can Go All Stars press single handedly. No knock on his teammates cause they are kids trying their best, but the inside players just couldn’t compete with the three 6′ plus kids they had. With a few more pieces the Gauchos and Markquis will be a force to recon with this year.

  14. bball junkie says:

I watched takeover elite this past weekend and markquis was the best player there! He hits the three, passes with great court vision and can score in bunches!! I was very impressed to see him play, I was very pleased

  15. kc says:

my nepew is averging 29 points 6 rebs and 10 assist and 7 steals in aau ball and his school went undefeated ….and just to let u know his dad is 6 foot 4 he lives at school #44 in indianapolis and was just invited to camp with the gordons of eric gordon and is honor roll student…….check him out he really deserves to be here

  16. kc says:

alonzo trier is the real deal

  17. coolkid 17 says:

the new york Gauchos wouldnt even be a match for the we all can go all stars. from what i seen in the MIT this year cameron johnson and darrius garland both ran all over the gauchos. especially cameron johnson who deserves to be ranked higher than he really is.

  18. bball junkie says:

coolkid17 im not worried about the gauchos beating WACG because i know the legalized ringing is used to its advantage. Everyone on that gauchos team is 11 or 10. Everyone on WACG is not the exact age required to play 11u but their grade due to the rule of AAU you can be any age as long as you in the fifth grade. So come on now lets not go there. In nationals when yall have LEGIT 11 year old players thats when you could rep that WACG hard. Plus we gave yall a run for the money in king james in ohio. WACG pulled away with it in MIT but no one on that team could stop number 8 Markquis Nowell who just turned 11. He ran threw WACG and thats why he should be nationally ranked. He had 30 on yall in ohio and 20 in MIT

  19. bball junkie says:

those two boys you names arent 11 years old but there in the fifth grade which is a shame that you take pride in that. i take pride in Markquis because the simple fact that he is exactly 11 and he is running threw nationally ranked teams like WACG and Ferrai and he killed both teams with 30 point games. He killed Chase Adams and Killed WACG as a whole because there wasnt no one that could gaurd him

  20. bags20 says:

choz lost to we can all by 18, where others lost by 40 i ohio, then lost by 16 in MIT.

  21. bags20 says:

choz lost to we can all by 18, where others lost by 40 in ohio, then lost by 16 in MIT.

  22. hoops dad says:

people, get a grip…these boys are 11 years old!!! it’s ridiculous to put any faith in these rankings. some of these kids will grow and develop, others won’t. some won’t even play high school ball, let alone beyond.

all you ambitious parents should take a deep breath, and read “PLAY THEIR HEARTS OUT”, a terrific book – and cautionary tale – about AAU ball.

let these kids be kids…and let them play for fun, NOT to fulfill their parents ambitions.

  23. nyc basketball says:

coolkid, i dont know what game u was watching but i was there, and the new york city gauchos are a team to be recon with, they have a guard name markquis that can put up points in numbers, and they play hard, believe me they played the top talent everywhere and they didnt have a problem with keeping up with their opponents. If anythinh markquis nowell should be ranked!!!!

    • hawk4 says:

calm down with this gaucho nonsense- i watched the first half of their game versus king street kings in the m.i.t. and the white boy point guard handled him but had no help.the kid marquis picked up 2 quick fouls in the first 30 seconds no doubt that whiteboy is nice boy and marquis is good and god bless him butlets relax with the stats, the king street kings were totally outcoached but they had some talent. i think they beat riverside in nj but that team has fallen apart.anybody that posts 11 year olds stats is wack. we will meet up with these gauchos.

  24. Baller block says:

Funny how people keep saying kids are unstoppable when even the best players in college and NBA players can be stopped.Seriously, WE ALL CAN GO will win 5th grade Nationals. People crying about the age of the kids, but wake up and check yourself…ITS ALL LEGAL. Do you think college coaches recruit kids based on age? No, its based on the grade your in. I don’t care if your son is 11 playing against a 12 year old, they in the same grade and thats the nature of the beast. WE ALL CAN GO might have a full team of age exceptions but thats legal in AAU, USSSA, High School, Middle School, YMCA, Dad’s Club, and any other league. When recruits look at kids they want to know the grade they are in and if they are legally able to play. Props to the young kids playing they age, but stop making excuses for someone that may be better…ITS LEGAL. Ask your coach if he could add a 6’3 age exception to his team would he do it. Hell yeah he would. As long as he is legal any coach would. Tired of parents crying they kids younger then everyone else. If he aint tuff enough to play don’t play AAU. If you gonna play AAU learn the rules and don’t use them as an excuse.

    • Honestly says:

Were holding all our kids back so we can dominate 5th grade next year. Then were going to push steroids on them in a couple of years…..Get the picture!

      • BallinBoi says:

Who are yall??? The Texas Celtics??? Dont forget, if we (Celtics) like you… we will move the fam and the little bald head man will pay for it all…

  25. Indy Coach says:

Anybody know the kid whow plays with the Spiece Gators out of Louisville? He is a beast from what I seen. Can be slowed down with a zone, but he’s strong, tall, quick, can shoot the 3 and drive. Tough.

  26. nyc basketball says:

Hawk4, I don’t know what game u were watching but the kings lost by more than 25 points, those gauchos r the real deal!! All the tournaments they played in they lost to wacg and so did everyone else but when wacg not in the tournament they win it all!! The white boy did nothing but get a technical foul cause he couldn’t do nothing!!! Gauchos o.n the rise, u don’t want no problem with those guys

  27. bigest fan says:

Here a name to watch Kendrick Every class of 2019

  28. ART DYE says:

ARIZONA HAS A BIG MA 6’1 MARVIN BAGLEY JR, (PHX PHAMILY), THIS KID IS LEFT AND HE NICE AS SHIT,, REMEMBER THE NAME MARVIN BAGLEY JR…. PHX PHAMILY

  29. bags20 says:

mr. hawk, what team are you repping?

  30. I AM U says:

“We All Can Go Allstars” AKA “We All Got Held Back 2 Years”, “We All Got Prideful Parents”, “We All Are Legit”, “We All Know It All”

  31. Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

i just wanted to post my son’s video lol

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oWL64HYwws

by the way yes King Street did lose to choz in the MIT but our head coach wasn’t there because he had to coach the 13’s so we had no coach and we was missing 3 main players and 2 of them were starters. my son got doubled and sometimes tripled as soon as he crossed half court so without a coach on the sideline to help with strategy the choz smacked us lol.

    but checkout my son’s video…….thx

    • Middle School Elite says:

It’s cool. MSE supports your boy, the future! We’ll also post young Taylor vid.

      • just watchn games says:

Just putting the name Demari Grant aka 2Smooth out there Bolingbrook Il Magic 9yr old 5th grade. Still plays all three sports and has it all Hustle,Speed,Heart and Grades. True leader. IF he chooses Basketball… LOOKOUT!!!

    • The kid looks like a player! Great size. It is nice to see a video that features good passing.

  32. NYBASKETBALL says:

Baller block there is kids killing y’all WACG cheaters such as Markquis Nowell straight picking y’all apart no matter how hard y’all try to contain him ! Nationals y’all should try to be legit and just use 11 year olds except for using retarts to help y’all win that’s ashame how you take pride in them retarded kids smh !! They 15 – 20 playing in 5th grade that’s a damn shame ! But Gauchos Ksk we run are all 11 year old teams with 11 year old players who give these grown men a run for there money ! Stop using the rules to their extensions please and play fair because before you know it that rule gonna be out of affect and y’all gonna be getting smacked out the water by these teams just think about that

    • Hoop Elite says:

When I first read this post I was gonna reply and say you were out of bounds talking about the kids. Most of the times its the parents and the coaches that do this stupid crap. But you know what, these kids know what time it is. They know exactly what the hell they are doing. Parents and coaches you are screwing with your child’s academic future. And if you are stupid enough to do that I am really scared to see what your home school looks like. You are breeding a generation of Al Bundy’s from Married with Children. The highlight of his life was scoring the winning touchdown for Polk high in the city championship. Now he sells ladies shoes. By tampering with these kids academic careers you are a step away. And NYCBASKETBALL you could not have said it better, stop hiding behind the rules. Its legal to drive 70 miles and hour on the highway in most states, but when you are doing 70 in a snow storm and you kill somebody, do yo tell their family the rules said I could do 70? Its classless. If this pharse is allowed to carryout this year that bullshit will get an asterisk for sure. Nobody in the country will respect you for winning with that team. Even more embarrassing will be is if you bring that squad to nationals and they get they ass beat by some real 11 year olds. You will look even more stupid. And it is possible! All I am gonna say is God don’t like ugly.

  33. NYBASKETBALL says:

Hawk4 the ” little white boy ” is okay . Think about it like this tho . This is how you know your kid is good ! when ya son can’t get off against a team like the gauchos how is he gonna do against ferrai , WACG , and any other nationally ranked teams ?!? Markquis had 30 against chase Adams and the ferrai team the first time they met and 26 against him the second time ! Markquis also had 30 the first time against WACG in Ohio and 20 the second time in MIT ! He is not good hes more then good ! If that’s good then the little white boy is GARBAGE ! In a open field Markquis will pick him apart if you wanna be truthful ! I got the DVD if you don’t remember the game how he was just going up his chest basket after the basket! I know for a fact his first point was a and 1 on him .. let’s keep it real if we gonna talk basketball ! The only one I give respect to on KSK is atiba taylor cause at least he tries and he could ball even tho he couldn’t get off cause of the pressure on his back !!

    • hawk4 says:

NYBA-MY FAULT FOR REFERRING TO THAT YOUNG MAN AS”WHITEBOY” AND MARQUIS IS EXCEPTIONAL BUT PLEASE – relax before u start hyping and ripping apart 11 year old kids.AS I HAVE STATED, WE HAVE SEEN BOTH TEAMS AND BOTH YOUNG MEN ARE GOOD BALLPLAYERS AND I WISH THEM NOTHING BUT THE BEST.I ONLY WATCHED SOME OF THAT GAME.MARQUIS WENT OFF AGAINST A ZONE. PLEASE NO EXCUSE.THE GAUCHOS PLAYED TRUE TEAM BALL. THE LITTLE “WHITEBOY” DID NOT RECEIVE A TECH AND MAY ONEDAY BE A VERY GOOD PLAYER.HIS HANDLE IS GOOD. I SEEN HIM AT LEAST TWICE. ……BUT GUESS WAT-WHO REALLY CARES!!!!THEY R 11! AND THERE ARE PROBABLY BETTER PLAYERS THEIR AGE EVERYWHERE. STATS AT 11 YEARS OLD WHILE POSTING AT 2AM IN THE MORNING?KEEP RUNNING YOUR DVD OF THAT GAME AND GOD BLESS

      • G Money says:

I just read all the comments about WACG, CHOZ, KSK, and others. I just want to know if you all saw the MIT U11 Championship Game. Did you see any players on the floor that stood out to you. I know I did. The Metro Sixers is a team to watch. They had the lead going into the half and into the 3rd quarter. Their best player had 30 points that game what was his name? I really enjoy reading your comments. We have alot of good players out there. Please let them develop and we will see down the road. But until then there is nothing wrong with talking a little jive. Have Fun!!!!! G Money Former NYC Baller now Living in the DMV….. Please replay anyone…..

        • It is always fun going back and forth as long as we don’t forget we are talking about 5th graders going into 6th. For every great 11 year old out there you have twice as many who are as good or better who did not start yet or just can’t afford to travel around with an AAU team. Some of the very best have not emerged yet.

          • G Money says:

You are correct when you talk about finance and young talent not yet emerged. Good comments

    • George Hill vs Izod says:

  34. Derek says:

im responing to your comments on talent kids that have not yet emerged or talented kids that coaches dont show case because there to young u hit it dead on the nose i dont need to follow up on your comment great job my son is zedrek farrell point gaurd for the Riverside hawks 11 under AAU Team

  35. hoopster says:

lets not rank kids thats 13yrs old in the 5th grade cuz their parents homeschool them.

  36. Lakers93 says:

I feel that if anyone has a problem with WACG they should protest them…..If you think about it if all the kids on the team are legal players, then what’s so bad about it? If all of the players live within bordering states, its leagal. If you take a look at some of the big time AAU programs, in the case of their elite teams, their rosters may consist of players from bordering states. WACG may have an elite roster if all of the players are legal. I think many parents and coaches get caught up in winning a national championship….Play AAU to get exposure to strong competition 2nd-7th , after that forget about the nationals its all about getting college looks during July 8th – 11th… Parents should spend more money on player development.

    • H-Town Ballin' says:

Protest is a waste of time. All AAU wants is for you to scratch them a check and they will gladly pocket your $100 bill if you do protest. Cheatin trash will win in that system

  37. vmoney says:

listen talk the talk the best player in country hands down is 6 3 EJ MONTGOMERY……..PLAYING WITH CENTRAL FLORIDA MAGIC A PG AT 6 3 FOR REAL A TRUE 11 YEAR OLD ….PASSES LIKE MAGIC…DUNKING A TRUE 5TH GRADER…..

  38. Lakers93 says:

Hey did the central FL Magic team play at yboa nationals? If so who were some of the stronger teams in attendance ?

  39. Honestly says:

Dont y’all worry about WACG 12yr olds. They are dominant now against our 10 & 11 yr olds. They won’t be dominant at all in 4 yrs when it starts to count.

  40. Honestly says:

I saw a kid in The Rock City Classic in Arkansas this yr. He played for the Rytes Warriors from Texas. Don’t know his name but 5 was his #. he was a post, about 5’8 but was very fast, jump out the gym & tough as nails & handled the ball well in the open court….those r the type kids you better look out for in the future.

  41. Honestly says:

Wow, I c alot of teams are joining forces to try to win Nationals this yr. If u can’t beat em join em. Lmao

  42. Vince says:

I guess people don’t realize there is an area south of Chicago called Illinois. There are kids outside of the city that can play, and at the King James Tournament, the Chicago kids found that out.

I have been to National Tournaments from Chicago to St. Louis to Indiana the last few years. The best 5th grader I have seen is Isaiah Bowers from Canton Illinois. He has been the best player at every tournament I have been to the last 2 years. He is 5’5, has at least a 30 inch vertical, can finish with either hand, is ultra quick…..and no ones knows about him. He can play anywhere from point to center.

Until he went to King James in Chicago 2 weeks ago and was the most dominant player there in the 5th grade class, leading his Peoria team to the title. Guess he will keep dropping 25ppg downstate until someone scoops him up…..

And no, this is not his dad, mom, cousin, etc…no relation at all. I have seen him play several times this year for a Lincoln team and I am sick of no one noticing him.

  43. The Scout says:

Watching # 12 atiba taylor at 2011 national play vs tifton eagles.Although he plays on a weak king st king team , his attitude is what i notice most. He has a negative reaction to every call that deos not go his way and his coach has had to get on him several times thus far.

    • langhornebball says:

I noticed everyone coming dow on this kid. This is an example of what happens when they rank and prop up 11 yr olds. People start gunning for them. I saw him play and I think he has good size and will be a good player.

    • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

to The Scout: you can say watevrer u want about my son Atiba Taylor but no kid in that whole nationals had a box and 1 on them every single game. nobody had to carry their team they way he did every single game. if it wasn’t a box and 1 it was a double team. nobody had the responsibility that my son had playing with kids that never did aau before. Tiba averaged 20+ and at least lead his team to the classic bracket championship on his back doing all this from the point guard position. u look at the teams we played and you can ask ANYBODY about my son and see wat they tell u. that’s frustrating to a kid his age to go through that alone but he fought through it and made his teammates better. the game u saw is the only game he didn’t have 20 i think he had 10 but he was doing more of running the team. if u saw the game those refs was the worst in referee history so i can’t blame Atiba for sum of his actions.

      • basketballhead says:

Come on now. Don’t make exuses. I hope you don’t talk like this in front of your boy. He may think he is too good for the rest of his team. According to the MSE top 25 KSK also has the #9 player on their roster. These kids have played AAU ball. Is it true Attiba was on the bench at crunch time against Tifton? 26 seconds to go and your Son is not in? Get real buddy these rankings are for entertainment only. We are talking about 11 yr old boys here. Lets come back and look at the top 25 in 4 years and see whats up.
Everyone should pick a team and try to spend the whole season on it.

        • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

my son wasn’t in the game b/c he got fouled out the game before overtime u fool. i laugh at sum of ya clowns

          • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

honestly i dont give a rats ass about rankings or any other this shit. my son will be good regardless b/c we workout hard period. i played aau ball and traveled with riverside when i was in high school so i know how this shit works u clown. #9 kid is a great kid but shouldn’t be on this list yet. he missed the whole aau season do to injury and nationals was his first tournament since states so get ur facts straight fool and he never did nationals before. when u see me address who u are then talk this trash in person not this internet stuff clown

  44. vmoney says:

Listen everyone talking that fart florida bball is doing work at nationals ….metro sixers got ran by broward county cougars and protested there BEATDOWN…listen I know these kids ages ..maybe 2 grade exceptions… at the least…. just becuase they dont get the northeast hype does not mean they cant play at all.NONE OF THE BIGS ARE OLDER THAN 11.. MAYBE JUST TURNED 12..BREVARD ELITE RAN OUT we can all run home from jersey by 15 ..it was not that close and thats a team who plays only 3 months a season they where faster stronger and with no real big and only added one player for nationals…get a grip

  45. langhornebball says:

Great job by the Florida teams! Maybe some teams took them too lightly. It is fun following this division…

  46. flabball says:

Nicholas Bonitto is playing with the Cougars in Nationals and he is by far the best 5th grade inside player.

Cougars are a south florida All-Star team put together for nationals.

CFL Magic combined for Nationals as well

  47. Rytes Dad says:

We were cheated by the Texas Celtics….they added a 14 yr old on their team. We protested with proof & AAU didn’t do anything. AAU supports cheaters. I think they should give every team their money back that was beat by one of these cheating teams that aren’t good enough to play their own age group. Look for a big story on this topic soon.

    • JBaller Dallas says:

Take your home school dumb a…. kid back to Houston. Your just mad because Noah got beat by 11 year olds. It’s the same team that played Rytes in Houston except the kids that got sick before the game….. Your parents were talking trash. We took a beating and now it’s your turn. DJ is in the 5th grade, your son is home schooled. What does that mean???? What did you say about G.C.B.C.? They moved their 6th grade team down to 5th grade. You guys were a two seed for your region.

      • j bazz says:

calling a mans son a dumbass thats a bullet on site pick on someone you own sise u fucking coward

      • MD Hoops says:

Hey dumbshit… watch your mouth especially when you don’t know what the hell you talkin about. Noah in public school and just turned 12. I talked to the kid and he is super sharp and smart as hell. Kids on our team like hangin with him cause he a great kid. Clear you’ve taken a beating from him with all this trash talking at a kid you moron.

  48. Lakers93 says:

Congrats to the WACG allstars……No matter what they had a undefeated season.. Not surprised that some other teams had 14 yr olds out on the court! Hey what can you really do about. That is the nature of the beast when you attend the Division 1 title! Everyone wants that title! I willing to bet there will be a new champ next year…But when you think about it, who cares…..Its about getting better and preparing for middle and high school

    • Rytes Dad says:

Well, u seem to care when hundreds of parents spend their hard earned money to watch their kids get cheated. & yes we can do something about it. I can’t stand when people say that. What if MLK didn’t stand up? Parents & Teams that felt cheated (which is probably 95% of the teams) take your money elsewhere. By the way WACG will prob win the next two or three yrs. The age difference won’t too much matter then.

  49. Tn coach says:

Hey I think that Atiba has a lot of potential… Learning how to make others better!

  50. The Scout says:

How can aau prove there is cheating going on in the middle of a national tourney. there is no way for any coach to get the documents that are needed to prove a kids age.If the texas celtics cheated, be prepared to state your case at next years nationals if the same kid shows up.

To rytes dad please don’t blame your loss on one kid who was alleged to be to old. I was at the game and the fact of the matter is #24 and # 11 did not show up and play a good game. Those 2 players are your main scorers.Without there production you could not win the game.

To Abita Dad. No doubt your son is a good player. Those are the same teamamates he has been playing with all summer. so please don’t use that as a excuse for his actions. He knew what his teammates where capable of all season. By the looks of the team he was on, he should have been use to a box n 1 , or a double team.I am sure this was not the first time he saw it all season. He is good player, but no matters what happens on the court he needs to stay mentally tough and not get frustrated at every call that deos not go his way. But that will come in time. You are doing a good job with his development.

    • Rytes Dad says:

We beat that team by 30 earlier in the year without the 14yr old. So yes I can blame it on the teenager. We still should of beat them though. Too many turnovers.

      • JBaller Dallas says:

I have a copy of the game. We did not cheat. We had 5th graders. We beat you by superior Basketball. Your guards jacked up 3’s (Noah 1-12)and our guards fed the bigs. Basic team basketball is why we killed you in the second half of the game.

For $20 you can buy a copy of the game too.

    • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

i agree with ur comments about his attitude it does need work but going to nationals and going through that every single game is very hard for 11 yr old kid. also we lost 2 other good guards before nationals which put way more pressure on my kid. i had so many other great programs interested calling for my son a before nationals and we could of played on a better team but i teach my son better than that. i rather him fight through adversity making his teammates better and being a leader instead of just playing with 5 or 6 kids on his level. my son will end up being better in the long run. im sure austin rivers could of been on a better hs team but he averaged damn near 40 at winter park and his team could compete still even though they wasn’t the best. i rather him struggle now and trust me it’ll be easier later

    • Rytes Dad says:

If Abita is 11 he is not going to know the way to beat a box & 1. So please stop talking about these kids. I was faced with box & ones & triangle & 2’s throughout HS, & College. It’s a challenge to beat that & keep a cool head. Keep hooping young fella.

  51. Mac Man says:

WE Can All Go won the title this year and probably should of. There were alot of good games and players I saw this week at Cocoa nationals. A couple who I still says doesn’t get enough credit is Coutnay Remy of Team Remy who is as good as it gets with the ball in his hands for a good Remy that finished top 10 after winning it all last year, didnt know he was a point guard and Daruys Garland of We Can All Go who should have been mvp of the tourney. he is incredible wit the ball in his hands and runs the show for them. Will say that I was not that impressed with the Schoenwald kid from We Can all Go or the Easley kid from Hoosiers. Hate to talk down on kids but just putting it out there.

  52. GMoney says:

The National Championship was a good gauge to see some good talent. I noticed alot of teams working together to be competive.

It was great to see some of the 2010 teams repeat as top 16 teams again (We All Can Go, New Orleans Rev Elite, Team Ramey, Maryland Scholars, Metro Sixers and the Indy Hoosiers. Great job to those organizations, teams, fans, parents and friends way to go.

Also a big shout out to the new top 16 teams (Central Florida Magic, Brevard County Cougars, Texas Celtics Select, Riverside Hawks, Gulf Coast Blue Chips, IT-REDA Canada, King Street Kings, SW Conquerors AFC and SO LA ATR 5th) great job to each of you, your coaches, families, fans and your friends.

Get ready for Hampton, VA 2012…

    Later GMoney

    • GMoney says:

I also saw Atiba Taylor play during nationals and other places. He is a good player period. Keep working young man.

    • Coup says:

GMoney, you’re an idiot! King Street Kings weren’t a top 16 team.Neither was IT-REDA Canada! People kill me posting their moronic mumbo jumbo and it’s all baseless facts. If you play in the Classic bracket there’s no possible way you can be a top 16 team.GMoney you’re an embarrassment to intelligent Black people.Go kill yourself dumb ass idiot…

  53. Hoops Elite says:

Lots of good players in this years tournament! Who were the top 10 players?

  54. Langhornebball says:

Time to work on skills in Summer league and come back and start all over at the 12U level.

  55. vmoney says:

Lets face it AAU nationals at this level will never be perfect cheating coaches …fighting parents…the list will go on..but too see the high level of play that was brought out was truly amazing…big ups to WACG AND CF MAGIC i KNEW Once cf magic got BIG EJ and yes he still is 11 years old….. they would make the championship game but he has never played with them before so the chemistry was not right in the chip..but the cf magic coaches did a great job getting that team to the finals also big ups to riverside hawks and the celtics for making the final 4…also atiba taylor is a great player and a top 25 talent…but there are a lot of ball players out there and where were the cali STUDS…lets get ready for MIT november.

    • Rytes Dad says:

I congratulate all teams that competed with a legit team. I heard some peeps from legit teams saying they need to bring kids from their older teams next yr. Please don’t stoop to that level!!

  56. The Scout says:

Cheating Coaches only hurt players in the long run..Winning is not everything. If coaches would focus on longterm development and not winning we would not be having this discussion..coaches and parents need to decide what is more important ..winning vs development.and until we figure that out there will always be cheating …

Rtyes Dad: turnovers did not hurt you..#24 and #11 both had very bad games, and that was your downfall..both are very good players , and your main scorers.without there productivity , you guys stood a poor chance..it was that simple. If they would have had there regular games, you guys still win.make no excuses..

    • Rytes Dad says:

@ The Scout, Basketball is a game of possessions. Take care of the ball ur chances of winning are great. 24 & 11 didn’t have great games but that’s no excuse. There are 6 more kids that can score on that team. Might of fact #5 is the leading scorer & rebounder on that team. I feel u with “no excuses” we still should of won, but the teenager changed the game. What did he have 36 of their 58. I don’t care keep him on the team, he’s a small 14yr old not a big 11 yr old. In 2yrs he won’t b a factor. Lol.

      • Langhornebball says:

Is that true? Wow! a 14 yr old? His parents must be proud…

        • Aaron Dread says:

Trust me he was not the only 14 yr old in the tournament. If age doesn’t make a difference then why do people cheat? To gain and advantage! Thanks AAU for catering to the West Coast teams and fucking everybody else that was participating in the tournament. Nobody cares that the West Coast only goes by grades. They are not coming east to play anyway. Who cares what grade a kid is in until they get to highschool (especially if they are almost 13 and in the 5th grade, They need to be in summerschool not playing ball). Kids of like ages should be competing against eachother until they hit 13s. And for all that you got a whopping 4 teams west of the Mississippi. And your gonna loose 50% of the teams for next years tournament if you don’t make this a legitimate competition.

        • JBaller Dallas says:

He is a liar. DJ is in the 5th grade. We had 12 kids and we know every kid on our team.

          RytesDad is weak.

          • JBaller Dallas says:

RytesDad heard that he was 14 from the BU Allstars Coach. He lied to you guys. They were the number two seed fro, our area. BU was in the losers bracket. Ask anybody about those guys and the history “Problems” at AAU events.

          • j bazz says:

no he would be to old to be 14 or 13 his cutoff would be sep of 98 we are talking about 11u 5th grade correct? If he had a great birthday he still shouldnt have been 13 until september

  57. Derek says:

Big up to WoW i agree with what you said about 13 and 14 yr olds playing against 11yr olds. Im a aast. coach for the Final Four Riverside Hawks it would have been nice to see them go up against other 11 yr olds teams in the Finals And speaking about Piont Gaurd Riverside also has one who happens to be my son im going to let his body of work speak for its self ask about him !!!!!!!

#3 Zedrek farrell at the end day im just try to get my son a free ride to a 4year school he choose to go to and not by putting other other kids down thats something we all need to think about

  58. vmoney says:

First of all I like to give it up to all teams that competed with there core kids….. not adding 3 superstars To there already stacked team..central fl magic competed with there core only adding EJ..BREVARD ELITE completed with there core kids no grade exception …..beat we can run by 20…. and had football practice that same day after game…so this adding for nationals really should be monitored or shutdown by april.its getting bad the florida teams added and smoked everyone by 20. give me your views… I am just saying…it should be nationals teams….. than national allstar teams….

    • Langhornebball says:

Maybe there should be a set date to turn in rosters and the players should not be on any other rosters in the same age group. It is hard to enforce. If you change rosters maybe a 3 week waiting period? I wish people would pick a team and stay with it all year. Maybe the players on a team should be required to participate in a set amount of tournaments for the team they play with.
Or at 11 years old not worry about the other teams and just get better by playing up even though it is the same age group.

  59. hoops junkie says:

Finally got to see Courtney Ramey of Team Ramey play and I must say I was completetly impressed. He has the full package and made his teammates better. One of the top players in this class by far. Will be interesting to see his continued devolopment into high school. Kid is the truth

  60. hoops junkie says:

Didn’t see Marquise Walker at Nationals this year. Thought he was going to be running WACG but he wasn’t there. Was really looking forward to watching him and comparing him to the others on this list.

  61. RF says:

@Vmoney, what teams do you consider to be CALI stud teams? ? The talent is quite fractured out here in Cali.

Also, the AAU rules seem pretty clear in allowing roster adds of adjacent AAU districts, suggesting they want Nationals to represent more regional competition than really good local(core) teams. Now, I’m not saying you aren’t right, because they also need/want numbers = $. Like you said you know what you’re gonna face, so take it as a chance to get better. Any body got game films posted?

  62. BBALL COACH says:

Guys at the end of the day WE ALL CAN GO ALLSTARS WON NATIONLS. The team that played them the closest was Broward County Cougars who was the clear #2 team at the tournament and WACG beat the Cougars by 15. The Cougars played Central Florida, the Legends with an All Star team, and TC Elite with EJ and beat them all. I am not into bashing kids and won’t, but all the kids need work for continued growth and development. EJ is a beast with size, but he needs to improve his speed, hed needs to play 100% the entire game. Sometimes if he is losing, he will quit on his team. The kids from the Cougars are MONSTERS!!! You have C-Nick Bonito (5’11’) a BEAST DOWN LOW, PF-Chandler Pollack (6’1″) an underrated rebounder and nice compliment scorer, SF-Malcolm Farrington (5’10”) a great change of pace player,SG-Zack Scott (5’7″) a tenacious defender (the kid average at least 7 steals a game), a prolific scorer who needs to shoot more (I saw him kill Gulf Coast Blue Chips until the fans were yelling at the coach to put someone on him), and PG-Dylan Graziani- The Kid hits BIG SHOTS!!! No Other BIGGER SHOT than hitting a 3 with zero seconds left and the Cougars down by 3 for the 5th place Consolation game. Funny thing, all these kids are 11 except for Graziani who is 12 but in the 5th grade. The scary thing is this team was put togeher in 2 months and only had 4 practices together and finished 5th, but was clearly 2nd and could have been Champs on a good day. I hope they come back next year. These kids play 6th and 7th grade all year in AAU and USSSA for their respective teams of which none competed in AAU Nationals. They are all friends with the exception of Farrington who was a missing piece they added. These kids have played together and enjoy playing together. You guys talk about them being too OLD, but the funny thing is they are young. SO YOUNG, THEY COULD PLAY 4th GRADE IN AAU. Bonitio & Farrington are both 11 born in September and Scott and Pollack are both 11 born in October. Then don’t forget these guys played some games with only 6 players cause their other players left the bench. Plus the 6th Man is Dylan’s young brother Dallas who is in the 3rd grade. But you saw Bonito get frustrated, Scott lost the handle at times and needs to get stronger, Dylan needs to get stronger and faster, Farriington needs to work on his control and handle, and Pollack needs to get stronger and better hands. They played like 11 year olds, but they are definitely in the TOP 15 of players in 5th grade. Wait til next year if they all come back!!! This team finished 5th and only had 3 players who ever attended AAU NATIONALS!!

  63. GMoney says:

In response to setting a date for teams to add players is a good idea. I think if you play or do not play in your teams District or State Tournament. You can not play for any other team period. No add on after June 1st. Period. This will give you at least one month to practice and play with your team before nationals.

  64. PRIORITY says:

The Celtics coaches should be ashamed of themselves.

  65. PRIORITY says:

I have no problem with teams procuring late additions providing they are legal age. Some programs skipped nationals this year – so local coaches seeking the services of capable aau talent is plausible.

Major issue with 11 yr old bigs having to battle robust 14 yr olds in the paint.

  66. BBALL COACH says:

Atiba Taylor, Sr. I didn’t get a chance to see your son play, but from what people say he must be very good. I wish he would have had a chance to play some of the better teams like Broward County Cougars, Central Florida Magic, Team Ramey, New Orleans Rev Elite, and MD Scholars to name a few. I didn’t see the Texas Celtics or ESP but even with the questionable kids they had, they were not dominant. The two dominant teams up there were WACG and Broward County Cougars. The Cougars beat Team Remy by 18 and NO Elite had the Cougars beat except for a heroic shot by Graziani, but that game was the worst I saw the Cougars play. Their Big Guard miss two easy layups in the end and the Graziani brother missed about 6 FTs and they were both 100% entering that game from the FT line. Butgreat teams find a way to win those games and they did. WACG Allstars are battle tested and that’s the difference between them and Broward County Cougars. What is amazing Florida has been known for football, but you had the Cougars and the Magic finish in the Top 5 in AAU Nationals. This is huge for FL basketball and the Cougars are from the Pembroke Pines in South Florida area where Brandon Knight is from. I think you will see Bonito, Pollack, Scott, and Graziani in D1 schools when it’s all said and done. The 6th grade teams from Florida placed 6th-Lauderhill Lions(Ft. Lauderdale-South Florida), 11th-SMAA Trojans(Jacksonville, and 13th-Top Risers(Miami-South Florida.) THIS IS HUGE FOR FLORIDA!!! You will hear from these players as long as they keep working on the court and in the classroom. Rumor has it all the Cougars are honor students and not homeschooled. Great JOB MIAMI-DADE, BROWARD, AND DUVAL COUNTIES for your FLORIDA TEAMS DOING IT IN NATIONALS!!!

  67. BBALL COACH says:

Here’s the work the Broward County Cougars put in at Nationals. Remember they only had 4 practices together and never played in a tournament together.

    Cougars-41 vs All Ohio Purple-24

Cougars-64 vs Metro Sixers-29 (SIXERS PROTESTED THE COUGARS AGE AND LOST THEIR $100)WOW!!!

    Cougars-67 vs LA-St MAry Select B-25

    Cougars-39 vs Spiece KY Gatos-22

Cougars-53 VS Gulf Coast Blue Chips-39

Cougars-38 vs WACG Allstars (NATIONAL CHAMPS)-53

    Cougars-50 vs Team Ramey (2010 NATIONAL CHAMPS)-32
{#3 Courtney Ramey COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN BY COUGARS 2-3 Match up Zone)

    Cougars-54 vs NO Elite-52

Like I said the Cougars put in work and I hope they bring this same team back next year and let’s see if WACG will be able to repeat against them. I can guarantee you the Coach from WACG is trying to develop a plan to beat the Cougars next year….SEE YOU ALL SON AND GET TO WORK!!!!

    • Indianapolis Card says:

I think trying to predict kids at age 11 (5th grade) will be D1 players maybe fun and entertaining, but likely not very accurate. So much changes with boys this age from one year to the next. The kids that dominate and are considered the best now are rarely the ones that dominate and are considered the best in HS and beyond. To me potential at this age is more important than results and a high scoring average. There are life lessons to be learned by boys this age and one is that this is a game, that if you are lucky, work hard, and are highly skilled you might be able to play in HS and maybe College, and a select few beyond–but for EVERYONE, the rest of your life is A LOT LONGER than your basketball career–so ENJOY playing and work hard. What happens in 5th grade isn’t likely (and shouldn’t be) in the top 10 great things that happen in your life.

  68. The real 11u says:

We lost our $100 too, & had proof a kid was 14. So that doesn’t mean anything.

  69. Fan says:

    Hey BBall Coach:
You should humble yourself because isn’t this the same Cougars team that lost the majority of there games at 10u Nationals by 20+ and went winless in pool play there before winning only 2 games in Classic. You are bragging on borrowing other teams players for one tourney. What happens if those same players that you BORROWED don’t come back. Then it’s back to 20+ butt whoopings. This was the first and probably only tourney those kids played with you and your bragging about winning with other players. What happened to your real team. Did you throw those kids by the waste side so you can feel good about yourself for one tourney. You sir a joke and what is indeed wrong with AAU basketball. There is no development anymore and every adult in it (coach and/or dad) has there ego in it. Do me a favor bring back that same team that you had confidence in that you took to Detroit for 10u nationals and win with them. Then I will tip my hat off to you sir.

  70. vmoney says:

Hey bball Coach great job at nationals by the BROWARD COUNTY COUGARS…..BUT LETS FACE IT THEY ONLY BEAT TREASURECOAST ELITE ONE TIME THIS SEASON ANDlosing twice before that….NEVER EVER BEAT THE CENTRAL FL MAGIC THIS SEASON and clearly the best team and real team not Souped up Allstar team from Florida was Brevard elite who beat the cougars by 20 THE Last time they played….well infact if they would not have hit that miraculous shot to send the game in overtime vs Lousiana elite they would have finished in 8th place. The second best team as I predicted in nationals where the central florida magic.and the team that came in second where the central fl magic. Great JOB BCC …BUT LETS KEEP THE TALK REAL.

    • true believer says:

AAU is supposed to be the elite of the elite and whether or not you play with an elite team throughout the season or you put one together because their teams don’t go shouldn’t matter. Why should one, two or three kids NOT go if their team isn’t? As long as the rules are followed what’s the difference? The kids should be able to showcase their talents……and the kids from the Cougars did just that…..legally! If a team is lucky enough to play together throughout the season they have an awesome advantage than one that gets put together 4 practices prior to going. What kid wouldn’t want to be part of an ALL STAR team??? Don’t be a hater!
And to FAN – the Cougars last year were 1-2 in the pool and came in 3rd in the Classic bracket with an overall record of 4-3. We went, we saw what we needed to improve and we did it! Don’t be a hater either!

  71. vmoney says:

@ RF Not sure what cali teams are good…. I know last year nationals where represented by the state of cali with PUMP AND RUN I know there is a lot of talent in cali but where were the teams.

  72. BrowardSharls says:

Pretty sure CFL and the Cougars never played in the regular season could be wrong though.

CFL and the Cougars both lost one game in Nationals and it was to the same time. You can not honestly say who was better

  73. RF says:

Yeah vmoney, the 2018 talent is diluted, but look for that to change next year with some contraction.

  74. BBall Coach says:

Hey Everybody, let’s get one thing straight, I am NOT AFFILIATED with the Cougars in anyway. I’m just a person with a high basketball IQ and I watched these guys put in work. @ FAN-WHY ARE YOU HATING ON THE COURGARS? I believe the Cougars last year went undefeated in FL and all you Florida teams started teaming up to beat them. It’s very respectable the Cougars went to Detroit and with a lesser team as you say still placed 3rd in the classic. I been in the game awhile. I saw teams like the one ALLSTAR TEAM with blue uniforms (forgot their name)from Miami that Barry Robinson put together 2 years ago go something like 35-0 and win one game in Nationals. So your point? The Coach was smart enough to get better players and you mad cause they probably kicked your team butts. Lets keep it REAL & 100. VMoney-you had EJ who suppose to be a BEAST IN YOUR EYES AND HE IS GOOD and the PG for Central FL on the same team in USSSA NATIONALS and the COUGARS gave you guys the business with his regular players and the SG-Zack Scott coming off the bench. It’s entertaining to talk but the whole world who was at Nationals at AAU know Central Florida had it easy on the other side. The Cougars had to face WACG, Team Ramey, & NO Elite who would have beat alot of teams on CF’s side of the bracket. You so confident Central FL can beat them I know you know how to contact the Cougars, set a game up. Furthermore know what you are talking about FAN-if the Cougars lost that game, they finish 6. It was the consolation game for 5th & 6th place. I take nothing from Central FL. They are #2, but you never played the COUGARS. How can you mention Brevard Elite? Where did they finish. You guys would love to see the Cougars break up and I hope and pray they reload for all the HATERS OUT THERE!! First it was his players were too old now it’s he put a team together and won’t have them again. How was this guy able to get arguably 5 of the top 20 players in the country to play for him and you other coaches couldn’t? So if he got them once, you don’t think those kids won’t want to try for the Championship once more. Let’s see. Oh by the way Graziani or Scott are deadly from 3pt line and with 5 secs on the clock, Graziani or Scott makes that shot in their sleep wide open. Graziani proved it when he hit. Great job to all the teams, but you guys STOP HATING ON A TEAM AND A COACH BECAUSE YOU MAY NOT LIKE A COACH’S PERSONALITY. IT SOUNDS LIKE PURE JEALOUSY!!! Find ways to get your players better and find players to help your team. It’s a shame you guys stoop this low!!!

  75. BBALL COACH says:

Furthermore, let me clarify one thing. If any one preceived me giving the Cougars their props as bragging, then you are more ignorant than your writing would suggest. The Cougars was a team I followed at Nationals. I heard about them adding these new players and the players added were as good if not better than the hype surrounding them. Let me sa this, the Cougars seemed to be a very humble team. I did not once see their players fussing with each other or their coach. These guys where ever they come from are very disciplined. I’ve seen Graziani shoot alot more, I saw Scott play in Orlando for Florida Family sixth grade and light the place up, and I’ve seen Farrignton and Bonito shoot way more and from different spots. So it’s apparent all these kids sacrified for the TEAM and they still STOOD OUT. But it’s alot of you DADDY COACHES looking to only get your son featured. Other than WACG, this team STOOD OUT. They finished 5th in their first try and they havent played together. You guys are so smart until you are dumb. Teams from every State find the best players to come to Nationals with. DC Assault merged with a team, WACG has kids from everywhere.. The Gauchos, Team Nike, and all the big teams do it. But you silly Florida guys are hung up on your egos. So I applaud the Coaches and Players of the Cougars for finding a way to make it work with all the Great Players they had. I would have liked to see their bench be solidified and maybe that’s what they will do next year and make the run for Nationals. Only the players and the coaches know what will happen. If I was a betting man, I would bet this team will be back to make one more run at the Nationals. WACG finished 5th in 2010 and 1st in 2011. Maybe it will be the Cougars in 2012…

    • Mac Man says:

They were so humble that in the middle of the game vesus WACG there coach and assistant got into a shouting match and led to the assistant coach removing 3 players and himself from the Cougars in the middle of the elite 8 game vesus WACG and not competing anymore in the tourney. Your also very funny to say that your not affiliated with the Cougars but just a fan. Buddy read your post. You are obviously a lot more than just a fan. I commend the Cougars especially if they did it the right way. Keep it going and keep getting these kids better. But you are writing paragraphs on defending something that in your mind doesn’t need to be defended.

  76. Bballfan says:

People can say what they want but i have been doin this bball thing a long time and i can tell you that kids that are 6’2, 6’3 etc are NOT 11yrs old and polished. Its very rare but the 11u nationals was some B U L L Shit. Home schooled kids mean a kid can be 13 and play 11u! Lmao at that one. Motor skills of 11 yr old bigs is not there just yet. In football and bball big kids develop later. Florida teams are garbage every year except 5th grade in Cocoa, they’ re not good at 8th gr or any of the showcases for older boys but in Cocoa florida teams beat nationally ranked teams by 20+, yeah OK! No way to prove kids ages, school records wont be touched by AAU because a childs records should only be released to that kids parents and schools are closed in July. WACG had about 6 5th graders, little ones that never played on end of bench. My kid is true 5th grade 11 yr old and so are his friends. I know the difference between 11, 12, 13 & 14 yr old kids so keep thinking true 5th grade 6 foot, 11 yr olds are dunking.

    • j bazz says:

if a kid is 11,12,13,in ANY GRADE THE CUTTOFF DATE IS SEPT 1ST 1998 WHAT ADVANTAGE IS A KID OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED BY WHAT GRADE HE IS IN? ITS HIS AGE THAT MATTERS JUST THINK WILE A KID 2 YEARS OLDER,IS BEGINNING TO WALK THE KID THAT 2 YEARS YOUNGER IS JUST BEING BORN THAN IS A HELL OF A HEAD START ALL SHOULD PLAY THERE AGE IN AAU THAT WILL BE FAIR , THEY CAN PLAY THERE GRADE IN SCHOOL

    • langhornebball says:

It would be nice if they put the player’s DOB with his name on the rankings. When they hit 10th grade the cream rises. I guess we just have to accept it and keep going.

  77. Bball says:

You know a lot about the team not to be affiliated with them at all

  78. BBALL COACH says:

Mac Man-This is what I do, I write. I write about everyone. I not only wrote about The Cougars, but I wrote about WACG and Team Ramey. I like the way the Cougars play period, point blank. But I’m not affiliated with them son. If I was, I wouldnt have a problem saying I am. I’ve been in the game for awhile and I watch alot of the teams play and I like the team and I like what the Coach did. Apparently you are probably within the organization to talk about the Coach and the assistant getting into it. Heck, you may be the coach that walked off the bench. I don’t know what happened on there bench, but as a Coach, and I have been a Head Coach and an Assistant and if me and my Coach didn’t agree, we may exchange words, but at the end of the day the spectators would not know. I would have discussed what issues it was after the game and away from the kids and I would not have left the bench. It was a selfish move by the assistant cause he didn’t consider his kids. You never involve kids in ADULT MATTERS. Men have to act like Men and not like boys, but everyone wants to proclaim they are MEN. Have you taken the time to look up the word HUMBLE.. The Coach had a disagreement with hs assitant in a game he was trying to win. SO WHAT!! The kids on that team were humble. No show boating, no disrespect to their opponent. They played the game the right way. So if I am able to express myself in writing so be it. It’s my 1st Amendment right.. BUT I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COUGARS. Are you AFRAID OF SOMEONE WHO CAN ARTICULATE THEIR THOUGHTS WITHOUT USING TWO LETTER PHRASES??? MAC MAN….HOW CREATIVE IS THAT. YOU ARE A JOKE COACH!!!!

  79. BBALL COACH says:

FURTHERMORE MAC MAN—DO YOU KNOW WHAT DEFENDING SOMETHING IS. I HAVE NOTHING TO DEFEND. IN DEBATE CLASS WHICH YOU PROBABLY DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS..PEOPLE PRESENTS FORMAL METHODS OF INTERACTIVE AND REPRESENTATION ARGUMENTS. SO I JUST STATED THE FACTS FOR MY ARGUMENT. THIS IS AN OPEN FORUM, ISN’T IT?? PEOPLE STATE THEIR FACTS TO SUPPORT THEIR ARGUMENT NAD THAT’S ALL I AM DOING. LIKE THE FACT IS mac man WOULD SUGGEST YOUR IGNORNACE AND I COULD STATE THE FACTS TO SUPPORT IT, BUT I AM PROBABLY S ABOVE YOUR PAY GRADE RIGHT NOW YOU WOULDN’T UNDERSTAND. SO LET ME STAY ELEMENTARY WITH YOU.

  80. getmoney says:

these rankings are crazy how can jalen brooks luther muhamed kenny jones zedrek farrel and camryn wynter not be on this list zedrek and camryn led their riverside hawks team to the final four come on now whats up with these rankings and jalen brooks kenny jones and luther muhamed is the best big 3 in 11u basketball

    • getmoney says:

also i forgot what about marquis from the choz and jalen lecque from the choz those 2 kids are problems for the 11u circuit and atiba taylor is a great basketball player but he is twelve and i know this because he goes to the same school as my son hackensack middle school

  81. getmoney says:

    but no disrespect to atiba

  82. Goober Jones says:

Hey BBall Coach and Mac Man — lighten up! It’s 5th grade basketball. Even the kids don’t take it that seriously.

  83. BBALL COACH says:

Goober-You are right and I was. I was just stating what I saw in a team and what I liked and this MAC MAN charcter wanted to take it somewhere that it shouldn’t go. This is only 5th grade basketball and it should be about fun. This is why you don’t here about kids later becuase overzealous FATHERS AND COACHES TAKE THE FUN AWAY AND BURN THE KIDS OUT. THANKS FOR THE ADVICE GOOBER!!

  84. AAU DAD says:

Guys this is shameful. My son is playing AAU because he has a LOVE for the GAME. As he has grown as a player he wants to win, but I just want him to have fun and in the process ensure he has fitness in his life. I have won everything I want to as a player and I pray I never have to LIVE THROUGH MY SON. I want to enjoy his playing. I saw these teams at AAU. I saw WACG, Central Florida, Broward County Cougars, Team Ramey, etc. All those CHILDREN AND I EMPHASIZE CHILDREN PUT FORTH THEIR BEST EFFORT. WE SALUTE THEM ALL!!! Someone has to be #1 just like someone has to win and lose. As parents we should be there to support and train up are children. Sports are here to promote comarade and prmote leadership and as parents we should reinforce these lessons at home. SHAME ON YOU GUYS. Lets these YOUNG MEN play, have fun, and be CHILDREN. As a collegiate athlete, it’s a business in college and the fun is GONE!!!!

  86. AAULOVER says:

THIS NATIONALS WAS A JOKE IDC WHAT U SAY EVERYONE KNEW THE FINAL OUTCOME OF THIS … I SEEN A KID WHO IS UNDERRATTED AND THATS MARKQUIS NOWELL FROM THE NY GUACHOS THAT KID PUT ON A SHOW AGAINST US ! HE HIT ABOUT 9 3’S EVEN PULLED ONE FROM ALMOST HALF COURT LINE! I WAS SHOCKED THEY DIDNT GO FAR WITH THAT KID ON THEY TEAM .. WATCH OUT FOR HIM HES A VERY GOOD PLAYER AND EVEN THOUGH HIS TEAM WASNT HELPING HIM HE STILL FOUND WAYS TO FEED THEM THE BALL , I THINK HE HAD ABOUT 30 AND 7 ASSIST

  87. BBall Coach says:

Basketballguru-Come on man don’t start the all tournament team thing cause every game I saw Gavin & EJ in they did NOTHING. They are all HYPE. Bonito is worthy & so is #22 & #23 from WACG. #23 did things that don’t show up on the stat card. You have Atiba, the kid from Riverside, you have Ramey, you have Greg Williams from NO Elite who made about 7 3s against the Cougars, you have Graziani & Scott from the Cougars. Scott may have been the best defender at the tournament. It’s too many kids that played VERY WELL. But I’m sorry Gavin & EJ are all HYPE and a LET DOWN when you see them play

  88. B4real says:

I’m glad you didn’t put the 14yr old from the Celtics in ur all tourney team

  89. The Scout says:

Parents , Coaches, Fans , and supporters please relax..Rankings don’t matter. Please take some time to read .Play there hearts out. The demetris walker story. Maybe that maychange your outlook on youth basketball and ranking young kids.

A player’s development is a marathon not a sprint. Which one has more meaning being the best 5th grader or being the best 12th grader in the nation. Let the kids play. let them develope at there own pace. Let’s see where the chips fall in 2018.

All this talk about who is better than who..why so and so not on the list. this is crazy.just because you are the best 5th grader deos not mean you will be the best best player in your class of 2018. kids mature and develope at diffrent rates.

Relax…Rankings don’t matter right now..Focus on development and the rankings will take care of itself in the future….

  90. AAU DAD says:

Well said The Scout. To Bballfan-Florida basketball is not garbage. Please understand Florida has always been a football state first and Florida has just started to get involved in basketball and now you are seeing the results of athletic kids being trained in a sport they normally would not play. Your statement that Florida teams do nothing after 5th grade is inaccurate and I would suggest you do your research before making an assinie statement. 5th GRADE Central Florda Magic-2nd, Broward County Cougar-5th, 6th GRADE -Lauderhill Lions-6th, SMAA Trojans-11th, & Top Risers-13th, 7th GRADE-E1T1-4th, 8th Grade Boca PAL Vipers-4th, and 10th GRADE-Florida Family-10th. That’s a lot of Florida teams finishing in the Top15 at AAU NATIONALS. So your statement is not correct. Not sure where you are from, but don’t disrespect FLORIDA and call our teams GARBAGE cause you are TOTALLY INCORRECT. I HAVE FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF THE COUGARS AND KNOW ALL THEIR PLAYERS ARE TRULY LEGAL. Please be careful what you say. I know for a fact the players on the Cougars team were very affected by the talk about them being old and they weren’t. How could negative talk not affect an 11 year old. People, to make statements like that on this forum is one thing but to taunt the kids at games is a way overboard and IMMATURE. We as parents should be examples to our kids. So consider your ways and consider if it was your child who was affected by the negativity.

    • LanghorneBBall says:

People are out of control. If you look at the forum there is not that many people who post on a regular basis. Hopefully the negativity hate and envy is in the minority. Do we really want to put targets on the backs of 11 year olds?

    • bill mcneil says:

AAUDAD, the nationals results from all ages are posted and if YOU do your research you will see that other than the 8 you listed their are about 60 or so teams from Florida that didn’t even make it out of pool play. At the 16’s and 17’s it was embarrasing how alot of those teams got beat. I stand by my word on the majority of Florida teams are not good at all and with teams that have gotten caught this year cheating don’t act like it’s unheard of. The folks from Texas that knew the Celtics were cheating do you think they are wrong and from the same state? People can talk about being immature and this and that BUT when you spend a few thousand dollars, time off from work and have expectations of enjoying an event for your child to play in fair competition and then get to Cocoa and see what was going on is BU@#$%&T! Its the cheating ass coaches and parents that ought to be ashamed not the folks expressing their displeasure with that nonsense. Funny thing is we probably won’t hear anything from these same cheating teams in a year or two. All of a sudden teams from small areas can find 5,6 and 7 players that are home schooled and can really play huh, yeah OK Buuuuuuuuuuddie!

  91. BrowardSharks says:

Bball fan the Cougar big kids are all 11. I coached 6th grade team from Florida and I know each of the big guys personally. They are 11 and none of them are grade exceptions. The only grade exception on the team was their PG Dylan. Also all the BCC kids are in boundary kids except Farrington

The same goes for EJ from Central Florida Magic. He is a true 11 year old.

Florida Basketball is growing and improving each year. The Fla teams are doing better in Nationals every season

  92. vmoney says:

Watch out for broward county cougars next year they are going for a 3peat…USSSA NATIONAL CHAMPS 3 YEARS IN A ROW.CAN WE SAY DYNASTY LAKERS PATRIOTS COUGARS YANKEES MIKE TYSON…OH THATS LUDITRISSS………….LOL …GREAT JOB COUGARS.

  93. vmoney says:

Bball couch potatoe lol …..did u not see the riverside hawks game if not for EJ central fl magic would have been playing your beloved cougars for 6th place.

  94. BallMan says:

    @ The Scout

The book Play Their Hearts Out is a wonderful story and I believe it to be 100% true. I have been in this AAU game for 16 years and it is crazy.

There is an aspect of the book that so many folks miss though- All the kids identified could play. They were all Division 1 talents. There were unfortunate circumstances that led some astray. There were parasitic adults that took kids off the task of improving.

The hidden story of the book is for parents to understand that every person out there does not have your son’s best interest in heart. Learn that you should choose reputable coaches and programs. Also understand that by 7th/8th grade that 14 of the 24 McDonald’s All Americans have been identified.

  95. BBALL COACH says:

VMONEY/EJ’s DAD-OR SHOULD WE SAY NO MONEY you are hillarious!!!! Dude EJ plays his best games against smaller/lesser talented players. Are you making fun of USSSA,, becuase you play in the same tournamaent with Treasure Coast and if EJ was so dominant they should have run through the tournament, but they did’nt even make it to the Finals. They lost to the Lions in pool play by 20. Don’t get me wrong is good but he’s no game changer. Do your son a favor and find a Coach to Coach him. Because you playing Daddy ball is only hurting him. He’s 6’3″ or 6’4″ but he lacks strength and he wants no part of the middle. He plays on the wing like he’s from Europe but his game is not close to the Euopean players. Just stop it. You said he passes like Magic, I begto differ and he never runs the floor, plays defense, and everyone beats him up and down the court. I’ve seen so many players like him and they end up nowhere because they have no work ethic and they DADDY grew up telling them they were the next Magic instead of working hard like Magic did. Speaking of USSSA-didn’t you guys lose to Bonito’s Hoopster’s Team when that same EJ helping you past Riverside got scorched for 40+ and fouled out. REALITY CHECK VMONEY!!!! GET A LIFE. STOP TRYING TO LIVE THROUGH YOUR SON AND GET TO THE NBA AND BE A FATHER!!!!!.

  96. BBALL COACH says:

For the record VMONEY, IF THE COUGARS WERE ON YOUR SIDE OF THE BRACKET, THEY WOULD HAVE SKATED TO THE FINALS…FURTHERMORE, YOU WANTED NO PART OF THE COURGARS FOR 5th or 6th PLACE CAUSE THE GAME WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN CLOSE. WHERE WAS EJ IN THE FINALS IN THE BIGGEST GAME OF HIS LIFE AGAINST WACG, HE WAS ONCE AGAIN FAKING LIKE HE WAS HURT LIMPING DOWN THE COURT TO SCORING MAYBE 3 POINTS.
BE HONEST VMONEY, IT MAY HELP YOUR SON IN THE LONG RUN BECAUSE WITH HIS SIZE AND SKILL SET AT SUCH AN EARLY AGE, HE REALLY COULD BE SPECIAL. HE COULD BE A Rashard Lewis or Al HArrington or he could be Korleone Young or Leon Smith. So PLEASE GO BE A FATHER!!!

  97. vmoney says:

First of all to attack a 11 year old kid is not nice at all when I posted this about the cougars I CONTACTED THE HEAD COACH OF THE COUGARS AND told him i would do so …and we both had a laugh in fact it was not a attack on the cougars…it was a congrats to them…. I admire those boys over there they always play hard …and if you did not know ej is hurt the big kid on wacg fell on his leg and he could only play for a half of a game in augusta GA this weekend….our boys play at a higher level than we all thought before nationals started so BBALL COACH BEFORE YOU ATTACK SOMEONES KID USE YOUR BRAIN….A REAL BBALL COACH WOULD NOT DO THAT.

  98. vmoney says:

Bbball I have seen you argue with other peeps on this site ….I will not get into you with that or would I ever dear to say something negative about a mans son …that was low and not nice for you to attack that man and his kid like that…. it shows that you are really a disturbed human and to be honest if you felt those comments to be true do you think you are the only one that has access to this…but hey it is what it is….. the BOTTOM LINE IS 2ND PLACE AND FIFTH PLACE. Thats not bad for both teams they represented the state well…Cougars going for 3peatin usssa …so EJ PASSES LIKE MAGIC …BONITA is the dwight howard of youth basketball…graziani steve kerr…nick honor Joe dumars….whats wrong with this picture…nothing just my comparison I love watching all of these kids and as I told my good friend graziano I could not wait until nationals was over so i can start not having to root for them anymore….is there anything wrong with this…THIS WILL BE MY LAST POST ON THIS SITE SMALLBALLS REC COACH YOU CAN HAVE THE FLOOR BY YOURSELF ATTACK AWAY.

  99. BBALL COACH says:

VMONEY-I NEVER ATTACKED YOUR KID. IF YOU WANT TO SAY I ATTACKED YOU, GO RIGHT AHEAD. I HAVE BEEN VERY OBJECTIVE IN DISCUSSING THESE YOUNG MEN STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. IF YOU TOOK MY COMMENT AS AN ATTACK ON EJ PERSONALLY, I APOLOGIZE TO HIM AND YOU. BUT AS A COACH SOMETIMES DADDYS HAVE TO STEP ASIDE AND LET YOUR PLAYER DEVELOP WITHOUT YOU. THEN YOU CAN BE DADDY AND SAY GOOD GAME SON THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN IMPROVE.

  100. AAU DAD says:

Guys are you serious? This is UNREAL what I am reading. Please let the kids play and have fun. Who knows, the kids may wake up and say I don’t want to play anymore. I had a friend who was the fastest kid in the nation from age 5-15 and when he got to High School he ran track one year and quit and played football and earned a scholarship in football and his Dad was disappointed because he never ran traack again. He later committed suicide because of the strain of the relationship between him and his father. Lesson of the story: Relax and be Fathers and let the kids have fun and make their decisions. They may decide they want to be a doctor/lawyer and not play sports. These posts have gone too far. 11 year old CHILDREN!!!

  101. vmoney says:

Bball coach EJ is not my son…his dad would never respond on a post a very classy and humble man…infact he is not living thru his daughters or son…he has developed some great kids…but good luck attacking KIDS …PAT RILEY I KNOW ITS YOU…LOL…SORRY I LIED THIS IS MY LAST POST!

  102. The Scout says:

Did anybody know who Austin Rivers was in 5th grade. What about John Wall , Kyrie Irving , or Brad Beal..No way , because they were average kids at 11 years old. Just discovering the game and playing for the love , not rankings are being influenced by foolish parents.

You are a fool if you think just because your are a above average basketball player in 5th grade that it will guarantee you will play d1 basketball..Please.. there are kids right now who don’t even play aau basketball or nerver been to a aau nationals that will develop into outstanding players. These ranking and post from parents are crazy.

There to many factors in ranking kids this young. How can you rank 5th grade kids when you have not seen every 5th grader in the nation play. 90% percent of the kids on this list middleschoolelite has not seen play.I am not knocking what they are doing. But lets be realistic here.
Lets promote development not rankings at this age.

When biological age balances with chronological age the discrepancy between the early bloomers and late bloomers lessens. That is when you will find out who the real ballers are. That is why ESPN deos not get into ranking until around the 9th or 10th grade. by that time you have a real idea of what is real.

  103. BBALL COACH says:

Well said The Scoout!!! Write these names down and if they all make it, it’s great, but history shows us 5% may and thed other 95% may not even be playing anymore for various of reasons. Let’s go and develop these guys and see where they end up. There are some special kids out there for their age, but it’s too early to put pressure on these kids calling them Magic, Howard, etc. Let Boniot be Bonito, EJ be EJ, Gavin be Gavin, Graziani be Grazini, Scott be Scott, Atiba be Atiba, Williams be Williams, #22 be #22. These kids are great in their own way and in their age. Let’s hope and pray they keep it up and you can say you saw them play when. Good work WACG, Central Florida, Celtics, Riverside, Broward County Cougars. You are the Top 5 Teams. Hope to see you in VA next year stronger and better. I saw at 3 good players on each of these teams and that’s why they are in the Top 5. CONGRATS GUYS….But this won’t be my last POST VMONEY AKA YOUNG MONEY LIL WAYNE…He’s NOT EVEN A COACH…BOL!!!

  104. In 6th grade he was ranked number 1 in the country! Austin Rivers.

  105. Murphy says:

    Excellent debate on MSE.com
Lot of it could be decided at Jr All American Camp this weekend in Suwanee, GA.
TEXT me if interested in getting your son down this weekend to showcase his skills

    Murphy

  106. The Scout says:

Austion Rivers is a exception to the rule..

  107. AAU DAD says:

Mr. McNeil- How about you go back years ago and see how many Florida teams even competed in AAU basketball. I understand your passion and your team probably didn’t perform well in Nationals. So go back to the LAB and put some WORK in. FLORIDA IS A FOOTBALL STATE. College coaches recruit in FL, GA, AL, TN, TX, & CA for FOOTBALL. FSU, THE U, And UF runs college Football. So for FL teams to do what they are doing it’s great. SO STOP HATING CAUSE YOUR TEAM DIDNT PERFORM WELL IN NATIONALS. What you are seeing is the result of Austin Rivers & Brandon Knight influx of FL talent. You watch and we will have this discussion in 5 years and see if you see Nick Bonito, EJ, Zack Scott, Dylan Grazziani, Chandler Pollock and more from Florida being mentioned. Furthermore, let’s see how many FL teams will be dominating AAU basketball. I believe the years of NY, Detroit, Philly, Boston, DC, MD, VA, NJ, & Cali dominating basketball is over.

  108. AAU DAD says:

Furthermore McNeil you are ignorant to try and justify taunting kids. Thats like a predator trying to justify his actions. If they knew the information to be true then why did they lose the challenge. I can’t speak for each team, but the Broward County Cougar players were legal and they only lost to the National Champs. Some people cheat, it’s life. So I teach my son to play his best. At some point your kid will be a freshman in high school and will be somewhere between 14/15 if not held back and he’s going to have to compete with 18 y/o to make varsity. Or if he goes to college he will be 18 & must compete against 23/24 year olds. Are you going to CRY foul then? Sports is sports and it’s competition. I allow my son to play with 8th & 9th graders and he’s in the 5th grade. At some point u have to compete!!! It’s the way of life in SPORTS!! Stop the whining

  109. Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

here is sum highlights of Atiba’s first 3 games at nationals

    • Espo says:

Great Job. I liked watching the videos. This kid has great size and is a nice player. You must be proud! The video speaks for itself. I rather come here to read the positive stories instead of the constant tuanting… Does anyone else have any video to post?

  110. […] 8th graders to some extent–the cream rises to the top around this age–ranking 6th and 5th graders and those younger serves absolutely no discernable purpose but to encourage these youngsters to […]

  111. BrowardSharks says:

McNeil. The Cougar kids are not home schooled. And South Florida is not a small area. Its actually a very highly populated area.

The 3 bigs on the cougars have all been playing in South Florida for the last 2 full years. They werent magically found. And none of them are a grade exception. You have parents from rival teams admitting they are all legit 11 year olds.

So sorry to tell you but all your crying about cheating is nonsense. You just got beat by much better teams

  112. getmoney says:

did marquise walker go to nationals if so how did he do

    • Hooper25 says:

he was at D2 nationals which clearly means he shouldn’t even be on this list.

      • The Scout says:

Deos not mean he should not be on the list. There were some good individual players at d2 nationals that could have played on d1 teams.

        • BBALL COACH says:

You can not iscount D2. There are some great players playing D2. Some D1 players play D2 because there team is not a D1 team but they are a D1 player. There are a WHOLE LOT of D2 players, playing on a team that’s a D1 team but the players has not business on the D1/Elite team at this point.

    • aau coach says:

Marquise Walker went to D2 nationals 5th grade and D1 nationals 6th grade.

  113. Listen the cougars had a decent run but all the attention should be on the final four teams not the 5th place team. Will they finish in the top 5 next year we dont know…I would like to tip my hat off to the national champs wacg all stars and CF Magic the top two teams in the country this particular week. I was impressed with broward county ..but i was really impressed with that spunky team from La who had them beat. lets keep this positive gents becuase keep in mind 12 year olds should be able to read.

  114. Atiba sr love watching your son play he is really special I saw him get a little frustrated but that’s just the will to win

  115. BBALL COACH says:

just the facts-I believe everybody has given the Top teams their props. However, let’s face it.. There is no way the Cougars should have faced WACG in the quarter finals..If people want to say Central Florida would have beaten then..we dont know. Cougars lost to WACG by 15 Central Florida lost by 18 and the game was closer because WACG cleaared the bench with his young aka true 5th graders. The Cougars had their worst game at the end of a long tournament week against the NO Elite. I take nothing from the Elite Team but at one point the Cougars were up by 15 and to the Elite’s credit they fought back.. The Cougars finsihed because of the brackets…They were THE CLEAR #2 TEAM THERE. The record reflects Central Florida is #2 and everyone has given them the PROPS. DONT HATE BECAUSE PEOPLE RECOGNIZE A GREAT TEAM IN THE COUGARS. CONGRATS TO WACG, CENTRAL FL, TEXAS CELTICS, RIVERSIDE, AND THE COUGARS….IF THEY KEEP THE NUCLEUS (BONITO,SCOTT, POLLACK, & GRAZIANI) TOGETHER AND ADD SOME PIECES…YOU WILL BE HEARING PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS TEAM INTO 8-11TH GRADE. So get use to it….

    • 2nasty says:

This is #3 from WACG and when we cleared the bench we had 4 3rd graders in the game not fifth graders and the cougars were are toughest competition. The thing is that you really cant blame the brackets.

    • Greg Williams, Sr. says:

Read each comment. Interesting discussions. However, BBALL COACH, for the record, the Cougars were never up by 15 on N.O. Elite. The biggest lead for either team was 4 or 5 points. I am the proud parent of #24 for N.O. Elite, a great player and an even better person (4.0 student who puts God first). 2-3 zone did nothing to stop his 3 pt shooting (hit 6 3’s and had 20+ points) and he battled the bigs down low (had 10+ rebounds). With that being said, We lost 54-52, Cougars were a good team and they won the game. No excuses from us. We lost to Central Florida 55-45, but their coach will tell you that was a tough game where they trailed us until the 4th qtr and the margin of victory was result of points scored late when game was already decided. Again, Magic was good team who won the game, no excuses from us for loss. We ended tournament with 6-2 record, 6th Place finish and now 2011 AAU season is in the books. Sights set on District in Louisiana and Nationals in VA in 2012.

  116. Espo says:

At the 5th grade level it is rarely the “great team” that wins.
It is the teams with two or three very big or early bloomers (grade exceptions) who are physically superior at the moment that win. If some of these teams stay together and the kids grow they will catch up by time they are in high school. There are some great players out there who have not picked up a basketball yet. For everyone of these ranked 5th graders there are many more great players who can’t afford to go to the various camps and nationals. when they get in middle school lots of new talent will emerge. Just my opinion.

  117. DaTruth says:

Atiba-I like ur son too but he has to control the attitude. Even if his team is not on his level. This is where great players bring his team to his level. D-Wade did it in college, so did Lebron in HS & pros and so did Micheal Jordan, Magic and the list goes on. My old granmother told me your attitude determines your altitude!!! I have friends who coach D1 college basketball and they visited some of the games and see the young kids with attitude and they all say they stay clear of those kids. So as you guys work on his skill, work on his sportsmanship toward his teammates.

    • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

i agree its work in progress but trust me its gotten way better. he’s only goin to the 6th grade so im sure he’ll continue to improve with his coaches, family, and friends support. thx tho

    • Espo says:

      Da Truth,
What a great compliment to a kid going into 6th grade comparing him to Wade,Jordan and James… I am sure as he grows up he will be fine. Young kids who are coached right will grow out of that stuff. I look forward to seeing Atiba in person. He must be good because everyone is talking about him. A player that is no good does not get this much attention.

      • DaTruth says:

        Espo,
You need to re-read my post. I never compared Atiba to Wade, Jordan, & James. I gave examples of what great players do. I was speaking to his Dad and his Dad understood what I was saying and even said thanks. So know what you are talking about before you try to reprimand me. Furthermore, I like the kid’s game period and I believe most people have indicated the kid’s game is NICE….So stop with the farce and you trying to create a pseudo controvesy.

        • Espo says:

          Da Truth,
I would never come on here to reprimand anyone. I was not trying to start any controversy. Maybe you should read my post again and back off with the condescending attitude.
Everybody has an opinion here which is fine. We are talking about 11 year old boys. I see lots of anger and bickering here. It is funny how so many people here talk about the kids and are so critical of them. You get so offended when I give an opinion?
I am a friend of everyone here. It just seems that people were riding the kid a little bit.

      • DaTruth says:

Espo-Furthermore, if you don’t stop a behavior kids won’t realize the wrong in it. It’s why you have guys killing people because nobody stopped and told them their behaviors were wrong and said oh he will grow out of it… So he went from punching people, to spitting on people, to cutting people, to killing people. So it has to be addressed.

        • Espo says:

I understand where you are coming from and agree with you. Read what I said, I thought he would grow out of it if he was coached right. I stand by that statement.
I am not here to make enemy’s I enjoy reading this forum. I have a kid who plays 11U and I am sure we have all been in the same gym at one time or another. Hopefully we all will be seeing each other for the next five or six years.
I will not come here to say any kid is not good or needs work it is not my style. I will however tell people when I think a player is good. My email is [email protected] email me and I will give you my phone number and I would talk to you. Sometimes when we write things they come off more harsh then we intend.
If I seemed harsh towards you I did not mean it. I wouldn’t want you to think I am trying to show you up.

          • DaTruth says:

Espo-I understand you and you are correct. I wasn’t knocking him, just an observation and I made a statement to address it. You hit it dead on and I appreciate you clarifying. Thanks.

  118. DaTruth says:

Atiba-It would have been nice to see your son play against the Broward County Cougars 2-3 match up zone. Their defense was the talk of the town and your son would have had to face a 2Guard from the Cougars who was clearly the best defender at the tournament. He was about 5’7″ or 5’8″. Hopefully you guys can meet in VA next year.

    • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

yea they probably would of box and 1’d him like everybody did but its cool b/c i rather my son go through these type of adversities now so when he’s in high school he knows exactly how to be very effective regardless of the defense

  119. BBALL COACH says:

Atiba-Good to see you are receptive to constructive criticism for the continued growth and development of your son. The only thing I say is don’t allow his age to be the excuse. I know he’s a 5th grader going to the 6th..just like you taught him not to touch the stove it’s hot and he understands, you have to teach him the same abou his attitude. DaTruth grandma hit it right attitude determines altitude. It will determine your success or demise. Like you said the support team of family, friends and coaches just needs to keep on him. Next year, we will see a different attitude. However, you mentioned the Cougars playing him in a Box & 1, I doubt if the Cougars would have went to the Box and one. The 2Guard DaTruth was talking about is Zack Scott with the Cougars. He’s a very rangy type player and the 2-3 match up zone confused alot teams and players up there because of his defensive play. The Metro Sixers were totally confused by it that the Cougars had them up 36-4 at half I believe. Courtney Ramey probably scored 5 against them. The front court was long and clogged the middle up and Scott protected Graziani up top because of length, his high basketball IQ and athletic ability. Scott plays up on 6th & 7th grade teams the whole year. From what I hear, it was by luck the Coach was able to get the kid to play on his National team. I heard Graziani played the entire tournament hurt with some type of foot/ankle injury…But Scott was so big up top you just couldnt get the ball pass him. He averaged at least 6 or 7 steals a game. Would have been nice to see the match up. Hopefully in VA your son is back and stronger and the Cougars are still together and you guys face.

    • Atiba Taylor Sr. says:

i hear wat ur saying but NYC guards are built FORD TOUGH and we go hard period. who knows wats gonna happen in the future with these kids but my son is a total match up problem period at this age. my son also played on the 12u team but they didn’t do nationals b/c we was missing sum big kids. this yr Atiba will be playing 12u, 13u, and getting some attention on the 14’s hopefully but our 14’s will be very very good. he’ll definitely do 12u and 13u nationals next yr b/c their gonna be at different times which is good. NYC guards aren’t scared of nobody and we all go hard. if we combined our teams like everyone else does NYC teams would win nationals every yr. NYC has 1000 aau programs so everybody is everywhere but if we did wat other teams do we’d kill every yr. another thing all our kids are legit age and grade too, theirs no cheating around here period. their are sum guards that i do like on the scene that aren’t from nyc but Darius Garland from WACG is one of my favorites and i love his parents as well.

      • DaTruth says:

Atiba-Darius is a beast!!! From all my inquiries & investigation, the Cougars are all legal. From my information, they are all 11 except for the PG Graziani who is 12, but in the 5th grade. The rumor is he was held back b/c of his size. As far as WACG most of them are very borderline but Darius is legal. The Guard Scott from the Cougars use to be the starter for Top Risers a 6th grade team this year that finished 12th this year in Nationals & 18th last year. He played for Florida Family this year and he & this otger guard KJ went NY at Rumble in Bronx and when they left people were talking. This was the first year his Dad let him play with his age group. NY guards are built FORD TOUGH..Well Florida guards are well oiled machines like BOEING airplanes. We play tough & hard cause most of our guys play football too and they just play with HEART & TOUGHNESS!! Can’t wait to see you on the Court against them. The Florida boys are here and working while you sleeping!!! They ready to eat!!!

  120. justthefacts says:

BBall coach Like I said they finish 5th from what I hear they are not the top team in the state…. from what I saw they almost lost there last game …in fact they could have lost there last two games of the tourney …great run but its over and most of those kids are not on that team anymore…they where a decent team but now this week they are not a team anymore! just the facts…they lost to wacg and won there last game in overtime by a miracle …just the facts.they where a 3rd seed becuase of what they have done in the past and thats CHIT….but if you want to give them some RINGS …..take them to mcdonalds they should be open 24 hours ….

  121. justthefacts says:

I will not give props too a one week team…that finish fifth and is not together anymore. u can sit here and watch there tapes for the rest of ya life …BUT ITS OVER TRAGIC JOHNSON,THEY ARE THE 5TH PLACE TEAM AS MUCH AS YOU WANT TO CHANGE THAT YOU CANT….NOW HOLD YA HAND UP AND TAKE YA PINKEY AND SHOVE IT UP YA BUTT AND SCREAM FIFTH.AND IF YOU TRY TO CHANGE THAT U STILL CANT…U CANT CHANGE THE FACTS…GUESS WHAT BBALL COACH U YOUR TEAM OR THE OTHER TEAM PLAYERS HELPED TO COME IN 5TH ARE STILL 5TH….YOU CRYING ABOUT WHO YOU PLAYED IN THE QUARTERFINALS…AT THE END OF THE DAY …AT THE END OF THE DAY..AT THE END OF THE DAY…YOUR STILL 5TH….NOW WHERE ARE U…5TH…MOTHERDUCKING 5TH…NOW IF YOU CANT COUNT TO 5….LOOK AT THE NATIONALS AND SEE WHERE THE COUGARS FINISHED 5

  122. justthefacts says:

I just check the final four for aau and the cougars are not on the list because they finished motherducking 5th now if you want to talk about a team lets talk about the boston celtics ..they crying too they are 5th place also.

  123. getmoney says:

    how old atiba

  124. Mac Man says:

BBAll Coach & DA Truth have to be the same person. Just keep one name please. You can tell by the convos and especially how they start. I just find it very funny that all this hype is all of a sudden brought up about the Broward County Cougars. I guess your mission is accomplished and I also must say that you have A LOT of inside info if your not a parent or the coach of this team.

  125. justthefacts says:

Are we still talking about the cougars the 5th place team in the country …the tenth place team in the state in AAU…YES TENTH THAT TEAM DID NOT WIN A FART THIS YEAR…ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON THE AAU LEVEL…THEY ADD SOME PLAYERS FROM ANOTHER TEAM AND NOW THEY FEEL THEY HAVE ARRIVED…I DONT CARE WHAT YA MIND TELLS YOU 2011 YOU WILL BE FOREVER 5TH PLACE..THE BEST TEAM IN FLORIDA ALL SEASON MAYBE I AM WRONG BUT AAU SAYS BREVARD ELITE….MAYBE I AM WRONG BUT THE COUGARS LOST EVERY GAME TO THEM…
JUST THE FACTS NOT THE HYPE.

  126. yunnggg says:

austin rivers was the number 1 6th grader but there are not alot of people like that and he also had his dad so u cant compare that to this kids

  127. Brandi says:

    W. A. C. G…. Cameron, Darius, and Gavin 5th grade AAU Championship….. Check us out!

    • Alex says:

I know Cameron Johnson from Madisonville, Ky and he is a 7th grader that does not qualify as a grade exception. He turns 13 before September 1st. This is easy to verify, he played on the middle school basketball team as a 6th grader in 2010.

  128. KIR says:

I agree with the both of you….I don’t get caught up into the politics of this fifth grade basketball to the point where confusion starts, but reading the posts both from BBall coach and DATRUTH they both sound like the same person..Who the hell is this Zack Scott kid? Never heard of him before and now all of a sudden he has blown up….This kid is mentioned by both writers in almost every post….Makes me think that this probably is his DAD trying to get him exsposed…If so that is very, very sad DAD SR….I’m just keeping it real!!!!

    • Zachary Scott, Sr. says:

@KIR- I am Zachary Scott’s father. I don’t get involved in rankings or trying to hype my son up. He’s 11 and we got involved in all the sports he does for him to have fun. My goal is for him to be a successful person in his life regardless if it’s in sports, corporate America, Medicine, Law, etc. So my focus is not sports. So I can care less what people say about him as a basketball player. I’ve read this post cause friends have told me about the madness going on. However, if you want to contact me and further discuss I can be reached at [email protected] and I will give you my number. I won’t hide behind a fake name to give my son hype.

  129. Brandi says:

Oh yeah we can now add 3rd grade AAU Championship to our resume… We are the truth. I’ve seen alot of good kids while at The AAU Nationals this year no doubt. Our entire team both 3rd and 5th are teams made up of the best! “We All Can Go”.. Our head coach is a beast on the court… And he’s not a Daddy Coach.

  130. BBALL COACH says:

MacMan-I don’t know why all your comments are HATE mail at me. You funny!!! I’m sitting here BOL!!! I guess you a low paid comedian..Whoever DA Truth is…he is not me!!! But great joke, I applaud you, I even LMAO too!!! I probably laugh as much as when I saw your name MacMan….It’s apparent you are affiliated with some team the COUGARS TAP IN TO DAT A$$!!!…I’m from Florida and I have iside with the South Florida teams..just like I know some of the Cougars were playing with a different team this week at Disney. I’m always at AAU games. I’m not new to this son..But once again good joke!!! U R A FUNNY BOY!!!

  131. BrowardSharks says:

Are you still claiming your not affliated with the Cougars??

So your just a 5th grade travel ball fan who travels to watch tournaments?

Malcolm and Chandler played with O Hoops. Its not a big secret

  132. BBALL COACH says:

Sharks-I am not affiliated with the Cougars. I like the team and I like the players he assembled for Nationals, but I’m not the Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Parents from the Cougars. Sorry to disappoint all the inquring minds.

  133. DaTruth says:

Mac Man and IJS- I didn’t know we had forensic analysis on MSE… you guys need to work for the FBI or America’s Most Wanted. You can solve all the problems. Mac Man, I have seen BBall Coach writings and our writings are not of the same vernacular/dialect. So your allegation are frivolous and comical. I applaud your creativity…It was a joy to read…Keep it coming..

  134. "Always on TOP" says:

Da-truth, wow! sorry you’re being haunted by the great accomplishments of the Lauderhill Lions-the coaching staff,(shouts out to Coach Jermaine Gammage and Barry Robinson-job well done-great job on the national ranks-AAU in Virginia!!!!! )the players, especially #35&#33-I said especially because you’re bashing these kids-by going on a negative hype, making false statements regarding their age-you need to stay tune-they are legal, legit players-give them a couple more years and watch them in the 10th grade-get your facts straight-tighten up!! and also on all the Lions winnings-see this is what happens when you’re a winning team-people like “da truth” start hating-trying to find happiness and satisfaction by posting such craziness and maddness at the same time-I see that your angry and frustrated-it’s only natural to feel like this when you want to BE Lauderhill, BE a part of Lauderhill and you can’t… you have the characteristics of one of a parent that round around town(s) trying to find a starting spot for their kid…i’m assumming…because it sounds like you have a real close connection in this basketball arena)like a “jumping from team to team parent”behavior-however-the lions are on the way to the top-ain’t no stopping them-and on the way your’re going to have people like you-will gain some and will lose some(players, friends, enemies etc…-that’s the nature of the beast!Gob bless our enemies and most bless the coaches and the player at Lauderhill lions camp! more success to come-stay tune and remember as always…da truth is da truth:) yep we found you………….get your facts straight before you go on a rampage-Lauderhill is real and legit-legal that is-everybody’s talking about us-the press is hot-on them lions!

    • DaTruth says:

Always on Top- U r a JOKE!!! Never have or ever would want to BE LAUDERHILL!!!!! LAUDERHILL IS IGNORANCE AND IF I HAVE A CHILD ON A TEAM GAMMAGE NOR DAN WOULD BE THE ONES LEADING MY KID…SORRY TO DISAPPOINT YOU…MY SON HAS BEEN ON THE SAME TEAM SINCE WE GOT IN THIS TRAVEL GAME SO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, BUT I’VE SEEN PLAYERS, INCLUDING ONES ON YOUR TEAM JUMP FROM TEAM TO TEAM…YOU HAVE A COUPLE OF PLAYERS ON YOUR TEAM NOW WHO CAME TO YOUR TEAM AFTER BEING ON DIFFERENT TEAMS EARLY IN THE YEAR..SO YOU ARE A JOKE ALONG WITH LAUDERHILL..SO GET THAT AND KNOW WHO I AM..YOU ARE FUNNY!!! FURTHERMORE, ALL YOU FLORIDA COACHES HAVE NO LOYALTY TO KIDS!!!! WINNING IS MORE IMPORTANT AND LAST I CHECKED JOHN WOODEN WAS INTO COACHING HIS PLAYERS UP TO BE THE BEST NOT FINDING THE BEST AND POUNDING HIS CHEST ABOUT IT!!! THE 2 TIME CHAMPS INDY HOOSIERS, CALI STYLES, LA PRIMETIME SELECT, MEMPHIS WAREAGLES HAVE THE SAME THING IN COMMON GOOD COACHING AND THEY HAVE KEPT THEIR TEAMS TOGETHER AND COACH THEIR BOYS UP…HOW BOUT YOU FLORIDA GUYS STOP TRYING TO PUT AN ALL STAR TEAM TOGETHER AND COACH YOUR KIDS UP. THE TEAM YOU WERE GETTING YOU A$$ KICKED WITH IN 4TH GRADE IS NOT THE SAME TEAM YOU HAVE NOW…SO SUCK ON THEM APPLES..BIATCHES!!

      • BrowardSharks says:

Indy Hoosiers have added players. Everyone adds players

Now I understand the spirit of your post and think that kids who switch teams every few weeks is a joke, but coaches should take the opportunity to improve their roster.

  135. Derek says:

Atiba i couldnt agree with u more if New York City would have put a All-Star Team together we would have been a problem for anybody at the nationals and any were else look how many teams we had at the national from in and around nyc add them to that Final Four Riverside team
WoW !!!!! there is a lot of pride with new york team so i dont no if that will work. for all the parents who have 5th graders that are 11 and under keep them in good spirits. at his age its a big difference playing against 13 years olds. As parents and coaches we have to do better a kid shouldnt be playing if they got left back do to grades. We all no boys and girls that didnt make it because they didnt get it done in the classroom let do are part

  136. Scout says:

All I know is that WACG is the best team in the nation right now. Their backcourt Darius Garland and Alex Jones can’t be stopped. Then Gavin Schoenwald can grab boards and lead the fastbreak. There name describes them because everyone on that team can flat out play.”They All Can Go”.

  137. Always on top loving it you could have not put it in better words …DA LIES ….I love that graziano kid…3rd grader 5 th grader and heck I hope they make a 2 year old 6th grader those boys have heart…Sure they dont look like the typical athletes but they play hard and always believe they can win…..but I FEEL WHEN PEOPLE WHO CAN GET UP IN THEM IT MAKES IT TOUGH…BUT THATS ANY KID….SO DONT YOU EVER EVER EVER SAY I DISSED THOSE KIDS….DA LIES HAVE TO STOP AND THE TRUTH IS THEY CAN FLAT OUT PLAY…BUT YOU DONT NEED TO HEAR THAT FROM ME….JUST THE FACTS AGAIN!

  138. BBALL COACH says:

Stand up and give yourself a big hand gentlemen..I guess you guys are being great role models for your sons…You guys are debating 5th and 6th grade basketball of which alot of these players may not even want to play in High School. Furthermore, some may not be eligible to play in high school. Remember, just like we all have access to the internet so do the kids that you guys are bashing. It’s pretty immature..I will say this any I am done from posting…Let the kids play, enjoy and have fun. Fathers, be fathers to your son. Train them up to be MEN OF INTEGRITY. Train them to know how to deal with adversity when faced with challenges. Just as you train them to compete in sports, train them to compete in the classroom because 75%-85% of them will have a career in something other than basketball. Coaches be mentors and a beacon of light kids can follow. Let your light shine so me may see HIS GLORY in you. If we were so passionate about school and training our young men, we wouldn’t have one of the highest crime/death rates, we would see more children striving to be the President of the United States. Let’s not lose focus…. GOOD NIGHT GENTLEMEN!!!

  139. Did obama play aau basketball?

  140. GMoney says:

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please, lets all think about the most important thing. Many of these boys are ok players now and they may become better players down the road. If you have a 12 year old 5th grader maybe he started school late or maybe he was reclassed. The bottom line is if the young man can not read and if the young man is not doing will in school it really does not matter what basketball skills he has.

I would hope that each of you to include myself take time out to work with kids for the correct reason. That is to prepare that for the real world and basketball is just a small part. I love basketball and I have two sons that play and they are above average and ranked. But they must be prepared for the real world of hard knocks.

Many of them will not make it to the next level. They all can make it in some other profession. I really enjoy going to the gym, the park or just watch TV to enjoy a game of bball.

Remember it is just a game, so lets all enjoy the game and our children and their friends. See Ya in VA

  141. Derek says:

W.A.C.G was the best team at the national and they were very talented but im am very curious how many of them are 11,12,13,14 if you do not no for sure please do not comment!!!!!!!. because i have heard a lot of stories about a lot of older kids and home schooled kids playing at national i wouldnt give them the same credit as i would give a 5th grade 11under team will somebody set the record straight before i past judgement aka… Final Four Riverside hawks

    • JBaller Dallas says:

Go Riverside Hawks, great team. We should have played in D2 finals in 4th grade. The D2 teams did well in D1 this year.
Look, don’t believe what you heir about ages. The BU coach has lied about us. When we played WACG, they were better. Did they have age issues? I don’t know, but I hope were good enough next year to play them again.

  142. Concerned Parent says:

Team Nike is a team of all 5th graders and they are all honor roll students. Last year they had 10 players and when the went to nationals they had 8. They picked up one small guard the beginning of the season but he didn’t play at all doing the Nationals. Not all teams cheat. They were the smallest team as fair as height and size but the worked hard and finished in the top 16. They were in Division II last year. Some coaches, parents take great pride in doing the right thing and see a child continuously develop. The age cheating not fair, but we have to deal with and work hard. If any of these kids get to high school or college they will be playing people 3 to 4 years older then them. If they get to the pros, they will be playing that and way older. They need to get used to it and keep playing the game.

  143. Just Know says:

Age cheating hurts the older kid, but benefits the younger one. Although the younger one may not win a title, the younger one develops from the challenge. The older kids never gets better because the older kid bases his progress on something beneath him…..and when the younger catches up…the younger one will eat the older one alive.

Keep your head up, for those kids who are doing the right thing.

  144. Ref in kc says:

When are you going to add bol bol from Kansas city. He is a 6ft2 11yo from 2018 class can flat out do it all…he is definately doing his father manure bol ( may rest in peace) proud….

    • Bob says:

I have seen Bol, and you are right, he can do it all. Unfortunately, at times he chooses NOT to do anything. Until he develops some passion for the game, all of that great potential will just be wasted. I saw him dominate for 5 minutes, blocking shots, grabbing every rebound, and then he just stopped. Team went from being up by 10 to down by 4 in 5 minutes. And this happens way too often.

    • kujayhawk says:

Bol is solid and can at times be dominant. I’ve watched all the kids in the kansas/kansas city area. There is a team kansas select? All white team that can ball. their point guard #24 is the best player in the area. the tournament i saw he lit up Bols team twice and everyone was talking about #24 not Bol. does anyone know where the kid is from?

      • KC Basketball says:

Team is from Mcpherson Kansas. But the kids are from all over Kansas. Good solid all-around team. Not sure if any of the individuals are the best around, but definitely the best team. Simply dominate every tournament they play in.

        • kujayhawk says:

Got to see the kansas select play this weekend (my son played in the Div 2). They where dominant in all games but the championship they lost. Main reason they lost is #24 (found out his name) Ben Pyle had a box and 1 and a double team any time he had the ball. I talked to a couple of the coaches and they said he is the best 3 point shooter they have seen and he can shoot from anywhere. One coach said he had 6 3’s in the first half of the quarter final game and scored 24 pts in the first half. He can drive on anyone and drawing the double teams finding his team mates, if there isn’t a double team he will score going left or right. All the coaches I talked to said he is the most complete player in the area. He simply makes everyone on his team better. The whole group of kids look like a Rec league team, but they can play. My son is motivated by this kid to work harder, and said anytime this team plays he wants to go watch Ben play.

  145. there are alot of kids not on the list remember the name coach larkin ison you will see him in a year or 2 from north alabama flight-ive seen him make several fair ball players really good and he coaches defence and transition offence he is an awsome coach team coaches will win everytime not player coaches-team players will beat the human highlight reel every time alabama is becoming a hotbed for basketball rememer cory (hardcore) martin for the north alabama flight he is not on the list because we havent attepted nationals its hard to do juggling baseball to

you know its funny how WACG is being targeted by everyone on here everybody on the team played in the right age group. teams just couldn’t hang or matchup with a team full of athletes . all these other teams have kids who were 6’3 or even 6’4 so why aren’t they being targeted like WACG?????

Courtney Ramey is the best player in the country his career high is 41 pionts .

    • Michael Lekic says:

That dosen’t make him the best player overall, just means he may be the best scorer overall.

I saw Courtney play with about half his team @ the Jayhawk Invitational. He is a solid player but wasn’t even the best player at the tournament. His team lost in the semis. The team that won the Jayhawk NLHA (used to be the kansas select) #24 Ben Pyle was the best player in the tournament. Just ask all the coaches who had to play against NLHA. I heard that the kid averaged 6 3’s a game and one game had 10 on his way to 40 pts against a team that would have beat (Ramey Black). Another coach told me that he had probably 20 against them but killed them more by dishing out 12+ assists. I witnessed him hit 5 3’s, dish out numerous assists, score 20+ and played only about 12 minutes against my sons team. (KC Magic). This kid needs to be ranked and put kansas back on the map!

Just watched your team, as well as NLHA in a tournament in Wichita. Heard that it was a bad performance by NLHA, but they did not look that good. Watched your team, KC Magic play, and you have some potential. You have a very athletic big kid who can really run the floor. Needs to attack more, but have not seen a big kid handle the ball like him.

glad to hear that his parents have him playing up, with older kids…. No need for him to play with smaller players in his age group, just to win a title…Sounds like this kid is getting ready for the next level….

  175. Dee says:

I was just reading this and i even saw some highlights of the kids. And i must say it is hard to rank point guards. but most of the ranked guards on here are from the north and midwest area. There is a kid named Dominique “Diggy” Winbush who plays for the L.A. Bobcats Elite who plays like an exact clone of Chris Paul and to top it of plays defense like Gary Payton and Gary Payton saw him and said the kid reminds him of himself swagger and all. But the kid is really great he has incredible handles he controls tempo he changes directions, he talks all the time gets people in position to score excellent pick and roll player very very high IQ and he is an 11 yr old 6th grader who is in his right grade class of 2018 WOW!!! If your ever in Cali check him out and good luck to all the kids who are ranked. Real Talk Rankings mean nothing always remeber that. All the kids are great.

  176. AAU says:

The kid Camron Johnson from WACG is in 7th Grade. AAU needs to look into it and strip them of title

  177. Keepit100 says:

How is it possible that a kid can be born in 1998 & be allowed to play 6th grade? Just a ????

    • AAUBaller says:

It’s possible because it the parents fault letting their kid play down. It just proves maybe he is just average with kids his own age. See how they rank with other kids born in 1998.

  178. Keepit100 says:

Hard 2 see how anybody could rank anybody in front of the Garland kid from WACG @ the point. That kid is a monster!! Big Ups!! 2 u son!! Keep it up!!

Atlanta Celtics just beat We All Can Go ALLstars, in NC @Southeastern Cup Series…. W.A.C.G. won a very close game in pool play againgst DC Assualt… This may have been one of the best AAU games ever…the game went 4OT’s!Gavin was a monster on the boards and played well, but that Demarco kid is just as good.. Also watch out for Team United out of SC, those guys are very tough! Looks like the D1 Nationals for 12u class of 2018 will be special!

  181. LOU says:

I wish the aau would go back to age only not grade and grade exceptions. When you have 13 and 14 year old kids playing 12 year olds its not fair. If these kids are that good they should be playing up not down. Thats why some teams dont go to the six grade nationals. Aau needs to clean this up and do things the right way.Dont let it always be about the money let it be about the kids the right way.

    • AAUBaller says:

I agree 100%. Too many so called ranked teams are only ranked because the kids are older playing down. Bet they can’t do that in jr. high school. Rumor has it there were teams with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders playing at MIT in the 10U division. Sad!
