WOW…..isnt this the same kid who reclassified for the 2018 class. his size is a factor and he ran from the 2017 class and ran across the country. Goin back to Cali……..naw, i dont hink so!

    • j bazz says:

who cares gametime this kid can play he dropped 50 at the phenom camp in 2010 quit hateing on this young mans hard work if he has the correct age and grade to play 2018 that is to his advantage all these people complaining about age and GEs better get with the program “BOTTOM LINE IS IF U HAVE A ADVANTAGE U BETTER TAKE IT UNDER THE GUIDELINES OF THE CURRENT GRADE EXCEPTION RULE “IF U DONT U WILL BE THE 1 PERCENT THAT DOESNT AND ALSO #1WHAT IF THE KID WAS PLAYING UP THE WHOLE TIME AND NOW HES PLAYING HIS GRADE#2 WHAT IF HE HAS A BAD BIRTHDAY AND WOULD BE ONE THE YOUNGEST PLAYERS IN HIS CLASS U KNOW LIKE MAYBE HE TURNED 12 THIS SUMMER AND EVERY BODY ELSE WAS TURNING 13 OR 14 IN HIS 2017 TEAM WHO KNOWS WITH NO LIMITS ON GRADE EXCEPTIONS IN AAU WHOULDN’T IT BE HIS ADVANTAGE TO PLAY 2018” DONT HATE THE PLAYER HATE THE GAME!!!!!

      • Gill#15 says:

        AMEN!!

      • David says:

I agree! My son is in that boat, he started school early. So, he’s in the 7th grade when he should be in the 6th grade. However, I refuse to hold him back. He’s holding his own against older kids, so no harm, no foul. Bottom line…Damon Harge is a freaking beast! I have yet to see any kid in his age group better than him, it’s that simple.

  2. Gametime says:

    @j bazz

if this Harge kid is soooo good like you claim he is, then why did he reclassify? Wasn’t he the #1 ranked kid already? Dropping down a class, is that gonna better his position? answer: NO

so, then he must NOT be as good in the 2017 with his regular age kids…so run to the 2018 class! c’mon son, we all know this game. if he Doesnt Need an advantage the he STAYS in the 2017 class….but he left…..his size is a factor!

    • j bazz says:

tell size is a factor to MUGSY BOGES/SPUD WEBB/ALLEN IVERSON/AARON BROOKS/JAMEER NELSON/KIRE ERVING /KIMBO WALKER/ISIAH THOMAS SR AND JR /DERRICK ROSE/ RODNEY STUCKY /ECT ECT ECT AND FOR THE CAMPS THEY AWARD 1 POINT FOR THE SHOOTING FOULS AND THAT IT EVERY PLAYER USUALLY MAKE 1 FOR TWO AT THE LINE AT LEAST AND U NEED TO READ ABOUT ADVANTAGES AGAIN IN MY POST

      • Refill O says:

My son played against Damon and yes he is an exceptional talent. Very quick and has a great hesitation move which is his go to move it seems. He has obviously put in a lot of hard work to go along with his natural talent. He has MAD handles but is still weak. My son body him up pretty good when he would penetrate in the lane. His passes were soft but the kid can flat out stroke it.

        • Refill O says:

BTW…love debating, especially when I am surfing or bored. I am a scout as well as a HS coach. College coaches do NOT care for all of this hype BS for every kid that can dribble! Word of advice to all out there, the mix tapes that are being put together and put on You Tube are a fascade. Coaches want to see game film, not highlights! Most kids can look great with highlights. We want to see how a kid responds to adversity when he makes a turnover or when the coach chews him out, what’s his vision, leadership, etc…

  3. Gametime says:

    @ j bazz

oh yeah….. the 50 points in Phenom Camp is “fools gold”. in camp ball they award you points for getting fouled, you dont even have to make the shot or shoot a free throw…….havent you ever been to a camp? So he didnt score 50 points dummie

  4. anthony harge says:

Damon is really a good player i no this for a fact the funny thing is that he has only been playing i would say 4 years at the most. Alot of people think he is hype if you ever see him play you will no that damon can play ball. His dad was a great player its in the Dna period. Also im from California his family did not run from california they did what any parent would do you have to do whats best for your family. Damon dad is my brother i moved to houston there is nothing wrong with change. Its funny how people speak about people they don’t no never have met and problem never will . I will end on this note i can’t say my nephew is the best 6th grader out there but who ever you put in front of him they will have there hands full.

  5. anthony harge says:

No Sir. He lives in NC.

  6. chad wheaton says:

It is a shame that we have so many haters in the world especially if it is adults hating on kids. Why not congratulate this young man for his hard work and wish him well. Good luck to you and keep doing what you love to do.

“Haters only hate the things they can’t have and the people they can’t be.”

  7. Mr. Basketball says:

I have watched Damon play many times and yes he is a good player but he has trouble playing defense and he is very short and that is a problem. Say what you want but kids get taller and faster and he wont keep up in about 4 yrs. If you look at his game with D1 he was all dribbling great skill but basketball is 1 move and go. When teams played him they love all the dribbling shows cause he wasn’t going anywhere he starts to bounce just before he shoots he is very predictable and please everyone stop talking about Phenom camp it is the biggest joke there is. The camp is full of NJB players that cant play competitive ball.

  8. anthony harge says:

Im his uncle and some of that is true. You have to remember that he is just 12 years old. Damon is not 16 or 17. He has not even hit puberty yet. We don’t know what height he will become. It doesn’t matter anyways, basketball is not measured by height. There are plenty of smaller guards that are getting paid to play or have went to a D1 school. As a grown man, you should be able to read his pattern. Yes, he does have a pattern, but his game is still growing, developing and evolving. He is just a kid, but don’t knock the fact that he can play. I don’t know about Adidas Phenom Camp. To be honest, all of AAU is political including the tournament hosts, referees and rankings. He can play, but none of us know what God has in store for him or even if we will be here to see it. I wish him well and any kid that has the dream of greatness.

    • Mr. Basketball says:

Anthony, I would never put Damon down he works hard and can play as I stated before. But you and his family have to understand where all the negative feelings come from. Damons family have put him all over youtube as if he is the next Dr. J I’m sorry but when a father lives his life through his son and pushes like he has it will come with alot of negative attention. I hope Damon goes through a great growth spurt and has a wonderful basketball career. I hope my son can play against him more

  9. anthony harge says:

    Mr. Basketball:

I do agree with you that by putting DaDa out there, he is subject to both positive and negative critcism. I know that he is not the best player in the country. There are many kids who lack the means to be exposed who we haven’t seen yet, like our son. LOL… I think Damon means well and wants to ensure that Lil’ Damon doesn’t waste his opportunities. Big Damon was very good and had potential. But, again Mr. Basketball you are correct.

    • alright I give him some ups . But step in maryland u will see how real ballers play , and im 12 in the class of 2018. Hes not the best 6th grader in the country . Promise u i could do just as much as he does. This is not called hating its called come see some real competition.

  10. BallMan says:

    Mr Harge

Thank you! Outstanding perspective of your nephew. The good and bad discussed without being defensive or a cheerleader. I am looking forward to my NC folks to break it down for me an I am certain to get a look myself during the 2012 year.

Met the family once and he seems to be a good kid and hard worker and I think he should expect free education through basketball.

  11. bball says:

I saw the videos on youtube of your nephew he seems like a great player. But i also saw a kid named Jashuan Agosto it would be good to see the matchup.

  12. tee reese says:

The North Carolina Rising Prospects are the team to beat in NC this aau season.

  13. DaTruth says:

    @ tee reese

CB SPIDERS ARE BEST TEAM IN NORTH CAROLINA RANKED#10 IN COUNTRY!

Prospects are just now rising up! have NOT WON anything. they look good on paper!

  14. tee reese says:

@DaTruth How can they be rising up if they haven’t won anything?I’m confused. They havn’t one anything? You can’t be serious.I’m friends with Coach Murhphy from the CB Spiders. He is the reason my son is playing for the NCRP.Kiyuon’Ky Reese,Damon Harge Jr. and Jordan Riyley r a force 2 b wreckn wit. S/O to Coach Murphy for looking out for my son Ky.

  15. bill says:

all this talk but the bottom line is he is not the best to young wait till high school the more u talk and post the more people will believe its all a scam

  16. bill says:

but u cant fool the scouts they know who can play and who’s gonna grow tall they look at all of that

    • David says:

Really?!! The scouts know who’s going to grow? Get out of here!! Michael Jordan’s dad was 5’10” and he’s 6’6″ please explain how in the heck did that happen? I’ll tell you how….God had a plan for him. Man is simply that…MAN, they’re not God. No one knows how tall this kid is going to be. I’m so lost why everyone places so much stock in height anyway. Height is nice to have but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t have it. Chris Paul is 6’0″, I dare you to tell me a point guard in the NBA (true point guard) better than him. If you can play, you can play it is that simple!! On the flip side, I’ve seen guys 6’8″ who were straight garbage. Height doesn’t make you a player!!

  17. justafan says:

Cant wait til this kids gets to bump against the guards from memphis, LA prime time, Team Felton, Juice all stars, team Izod and Team Takeover…. then tell me this is the best guard in that class. until them I dont beleive it!

  18. BallHawk says:

You’re going to be waiting a long time since he re-classed. Actually, what level do players compete at when they re-class? For the record, I like what I’ve seen from that Chris Lykes kid at any class. Not sure why he reclassed either…remove all doubt I guess.

  19. HoldemBac says:

    : : : : : Oh Lord, how I love this game

    : : : : : My dad say’s it’s not fair
    : : : : : I never get to compete
    : : : : : You see, I have a hard time
    : : : : : trying to move my feet.

    : : : : : At my school I like
    : : : : : the courses that I take
    : : : : : I make very good grades

    : : : : : You see, I’m 14 now

    : : : : : I miss my friends

    : : : : : Someday I will graduate
    : : : : : and maybe get to play ball
    : : : : : But in the end
    : : : : : is wasn’t worth it all.

    : : : : : People call me a holdback
    : : : : : because I can’t play my age
    : : : : : But come see me next year
    : : : : : I will be front page

  20. I played against him I had dam on lock he scored 4 points and had no assist check me out class of 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yzXJ3-Lq9M

  21. bmeortho says:

leave this kid alone… can’t believe u guys are saying height is a factor … i was 5’2″ in 8th grade and graduated high school 6’0″ with 38″ vert … nothing wrong wit him reclassifying, kid is only like 12 man

  22. Mr white says:

Mr Bmeortho how is not holding back a straight A student not bad? when I was in school the only kids that did not pass or held back had learning problems. Holding a child back because he or she happens to be short for there age or the bad birthday stuff is a bunch of crap. This kid is 12 years old and will be 13 years old in april and thats a fact. Now I do agree that height is not a factor. Now I’ve seen this kid play many, many times and he is ok to me. This kid started out behind everyone and passed them up but then he did not get any better other kids that could not stay with him started growing getting bigger and faster they started catching up making it very hard for him shuting him down most of the time. Now if you look back at his first video’s and his new video’s its the same nothing has changed same moves behind the back cross over push off with the left arm spin move step back with push off same old stuff . Now I’ll say one thing his family has him a great promoter thats for sure but at the end of the day this kid ok.

  23. IamIMPRESSED says:

    @Mr White,
wow i am impressed with your comments on this kids game. I too have seen him play several times and see the same OLD moves with the pushoff. We played him and was able to shut him down because of ALL the video out there with those tired moves…lol
He better grow, height is one of the main factors he is a HOLDBACK.
Remember he was already a top kid last year so why reclass if your already at the top and have good grades? HEIGHT!

Go Shorty, its your birthday, your older than ALL your classmates but its ok! lol

    • David says:

Those same tired moves seem to be working, because I haven’t seen too many kids stay in front of him. The kid can play ball plain and simple. It just seems like a lot of people hate on this kid because he’s getting the pub. I hear people all the time say they’ve seen better, but as I search the web, I can not seem to find anyone who’s better. If there’s better out there, please post the videos. I would love to see it.

  24. Mishael Etuaful says:

yall over hear ranking players in the 6th grade ,Im in the 6th grade and I dont think damon is all that good. But it all matters in high school nobody care what you do in 6th and 7th grade

    • David says:

You’re absolutely right young man, no one cares about what you do in the 6th or 7th grade, but wouldn’t you agree that this young man is well on his way to impressing even at the high school level? I can see this young man doing big things once he gets to high school. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he’s the best kid I’ve seen at his age so far.

      • Mr white says:

Mr David i found one more his cousin he is younger but has game. All these kids I’ve posted are not And 1 players so maybe you like damon ‘s game because of all the and 1 thats not basketball the game is one move and get where you need to be because all that dribbling guess what your team mates are standing around any real coach would never ever go for that. Anyways here is my last which I think is the best video of them all peace. One more thing most of the kids in damon video’s look like YMCA kids. The reason I say this video is the best out of all of them is because the kids look alot better and bigger.

  25. kid says:

I played against this kid in a tenth Grade tournament he is not what i thought he. Was but he can play some ball if he wasn’t on that team then they wouldn’t be able to have keep up with us.

  26. Daryl D says:

    Hey,

Was just in Palm Springs….Team Dream (Los Angeles) beat the Wilmington team…..this team played with poised, moved the ball and executed…they have a kid (#23)…I think his name is Reese, that was incredible. He picked apart the defense, drove at will and scored the game winning basket…..I’d like to see him against John Willis…..
