Another Young Dog

FEBA8596-2450-48ED-B366-24E2D31DE814He wants to break all college basketball’s career-high records.

2025 Dene Young was born and raised in Fresno, California, where he grew up watching notable players, such as Courtney Alexander, Rafer Alston, Chris Herren, Paul George, Melvin Ely and Chris Jeffries.

Young’s uncle, and former Fresno State All-American, Dominick Young leads the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in steals, assists, and three pointers.

He also earned the NCAA three-point shooting leader in 1996.

And Dene strives to surpass his rewarding mentor, trainer and family member.

Young has enrolled into Ron Institution Prep in California. Miles Thomas coaches varsity basketball, and his mother serves as school’s principal.

Ron Institution Prep has a national schedule and will face powerhouses Prolific Prep and Hillcrest Prep. Dene plays a key role as point guard even though he’s only 14 years old.

Dom said, “He’s a running back like Walton Payton with Tim Hardaway built and court vision like Magic Johnson.”

Dene seemingly exudes confidence parallel to Michael Jordan.

“He dribbles low like an ant.”

During the pandemic, Young hones his craft and showcases for We Got Next on the AAU circuit.

Will Young adorn a Bulldogs’ uniform and break all Dom’s records at Fresno State?
