“The MSE 52 State Diary”

David Vasquez – Class of 2017- West Linn, OR

I hope everyone had a good holiday and a happy new year! Not much has happened this past month, camp invites have been coming in so it looks like I’m going to have a busy summer plus the MSE camp in March where I plan to show out.

It’s been a very slow start in both of my school and AAU teams. I played in a couple of tournaments one being the Les Schwab invitational in Hillsboro, Oregon where my school team placed 2^nd ; we lost to a very good AAU team.

The other tournament I played with my 6^th grade AAU team Run It Back Sports, it was in the West Coast Christmas Championship in Beaverton, Oregon we played some strong teams from Seattle and Portland.

One of the teams being my former team, that was fun going against my buddies. Everyone on my team had a lot of playing time since we were only running with 6 players. I averaged 17.2 ppg.

All in all very slow month for me but AAU league play starts January 3^rd. I will be playing with Run It Back Sports 6^th & 8^th grade teams. Be sure to check out my December highlight video.

My name is Jervae Robinson and this is my report for the 52 state Diary, I also play up on the Colorado Hawks 14u aau team ranked 25 in the country with aau rankings.

We played in a Christmas tournament this week, and the Colorado Hawks 14u aau team wins the CSA Holiday Tournament 8th grade division.

The Hawks have new players and a new coaching staff but this was the first championship for the new coaching staff as the Hawks prepare for the Gym Rats tournament in Feb. 2011 at the Nike facility in Beaverton Oregon.

I hope to bring more good news as i prepare for the MSE Adidas camp 2011 talk to you soon.

Hello middleschoolelite.com, my name is Ka’Rell Henry and I live in Bronx, NY.

I will be at MSE Camp in March. I attend Holy Family School and I am on my school team, the Holy Family Saints.

I am 6 feet and I play point guard and small foward. We are currently undefeated at 14-0.

My father always tells me, in order to be the best you have to go against the best.

He tells me to hustle hard and play as if it’s my last game. Everytime I step on the court, I give it 110%.

When I have a bad game, I learn from it and work harder. I’m always in the gym working on what I need to strenghten in my game.

I’ve been playing basketball all my life but started playing organized basketball in 5th grade.

Along with my school team I play for the New York Gauchos.

Basketball isn’t the only thing important though, grades come first.

I maintain a 90% average and I work everyday to raise it higher.

Hello Middleschoolelite.com, we are checking in for the 52 state TEXAS Diary, 2017 class, Chris Giles and PJ Washington Jr!

We just finished playing a local Dallas Tournament in the 6th and 7th grade division, taking first and second place.

We played eight games in two days against top local talent.

Our next major tournament will come the week before Christmas in Houston, where we expect to see nationally ranked travel teams compete for the Holiday Classic Kickoff Championship.

Just finished up fall league at The Hoop in Beaverton, OR there were a lot of good teams playing.

I played on the J.V high school & 6^th grade team for Run It Back Sports.

I held my own with the J.V team hitting the 3 ball when needed while playing kids a foot taller & 40-70lbs heavier.

With the help of my teammates on the 6^th grade team I was able to Average,22.5 PPG & 6 dimes a game.

Now I am focused on my school work, in my family and Run It Back Sports team.

Keeping my grades up is a must to play ball, I should be all right I had all A’s and two B’s on my last report card.

Winter ball Starts next week I made the 6^th grade “A Team” for West Linn Select also I will be playing with Run It Back Sports 8^th & 6^th grade teams. I can’t wait until season starts!!!

My name is Steven Holloway. The year started for us all playing for the St Louis North County Cougars.

Our first tournament was 3 weeks ago at Oakville High School ( Missouri 5A State Basketball runner up in 2010).

Our First game of the year was against the St Louis Pythons. We beat the Pythons 73-9.

I had 20 points and Jayson Tatum (#14 7th Grade MSE) had 18. The second we played the Columbia Orangemen.

My friend Tyler who I met at the  University of Kansas Camp is on that team.

I hit a 3pt with 20 seconds to tie the game then tip the ball from Tyler and Derrick Henderson tipped to me for a layup and we won 31-29.

The Championship game we played the St Louis Heat and their 6-2 center and Jayson who is 6-0 was hurt and did not play. We won in a close game 31-29.

We had a 8 point lead with a 1:30 left but played bad down the stretch, I had 15 points against the Heat and 11 against the Orangemen.

My name is Kason Harrell and I live in Greensburg, PA.

I’m a 6 foot 1 inch 8th grade guard who has experienced lots of success since the 3rd grade.

I have been a scoring leader on just about every team I played on.

As a 3rd grader I was named MVP for the Travel Tournament team.

I was lead scorer for my 5th and 6th grade AAU Teams.

I was ranked #12 as a 6th and 7th grader in the Nation by KO Basketball.

I was voted to the Solon Classic All-Tournament Team for both 5th and 6th grades.

As a 7th grader, I played for both the 7th and 8th middle school team averaging 20 plus points for both teams.

I played up on a 8th grade AAU team as a 7th grader and was the 2nd leading scorer.

I ranked #10 in the 8th grade division at 2010 KO Basketball Elite camp.

I also attended the University of North Carolina camp this past summer.

As a rising 8th grader I elevated to compete in the rising 10th, 11th and 12th  grades division.

I earned the Free-Throw shooting Champ Award of the week at the UNC camp in the High School division.

As a 8th grader, I’m starting point guard for the Hempfield High School Freshman team.

I show lots of promise with a consistent 3pt range game, solid defense and an impressive vertical, Dunking.

I desire to use my God given skills to glorify God and serve Jesus Christ my Savior.

My name is Jervae Robinson and I scored 17 points, 6 assist, 2 steals in the championship game to help Team USA win the Tip Off Classic in Colorado Springs 2010.

Team USA is the #1 7th grade team in Colorado in the class of 2016.

We have won two Championships back to back in the 8th grade division.

And we won the 8th grade Jam league in Oct. 2010.

I cant wait to write my next MSE 52 State Diary. Peace out J Rock.

Hello, Middle School Elite. We are very pleased with your website and would like to add our story. My name is Chris Giles and I play on the 6th grade “Texas Celtics Select” based out of Dallas,TX.

We finished the year 49-4 in route to the 2010 D1 AAU 11U National Championship game!

Competing against teams like Illinois Crush, DC Assault, Louisiana Jaguars, Vegas Rebels, Indians Elite, Atlanta Celtics and Tulsa Bulldogs to set up a match between the tourney’s only two undefeated teams, Texas Celtics Select vs Indy Hoosiers.

The game went down to the wire but Indy pulled it out in the end.  The “Texas Celtics Select” finished ranked #2 in the country and all its players and coaches still felt great for the many accomplishments they achieved throughout the year!

Coaches: Chris Giles, Paul Washington & Patrick Milton.

Players: Rodney Belcher, PJ Washington, Jermey Hodge, Kennedy Milton, Chris Giles, JJ Chandler, Jared Pearre, TJ Sparks, Easton Upchurch.

This is my first entry in the MSE Michigan diary. First I would like to thank GOD for the gifts he has blessed me with. And I would also like to thank middleschoolelite.com for giving me the opportunity to do this diary.

Sunday 11/14/2010: I was invited to the boys preseason high-school showcase camp. The camp was ran by Paul Carmona from Next Generation Sports. I was a little nervous going in because I was the only 7th grader there.

After we started doing drills my nerves settled down. We did a lot of dribbling , shooting and post move drills. Towards the end of camp we broke off into teams and played. I think I did pretty good against the older players. I rested Monday. On Tuesday and Thursday I went to my personal trainer. We worked on my foot speed, getting my core stronger and a lot of plyometrics . Ive gotten a lot stronger and faster since I first started with him in February.

Sunday 11/21/2010: It was tournament time for the Kenny Goldman league I play in at the JCC in West Bloomfield, Mi. My team won the semi-final game against the family of Detroit. But we ended up losing in the championship game. Now its time for my middle school team to start our season. Look out for my next entry to see how we are doing.
