The MSE camp had its share of talented guards, forwards and big men for 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th grade. Many players traveled from 50 states in America including Hawaii; The District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.

MSE 6th Graders (No particular order)

Dylan Henderson (NV) - He made a run for MVP honors. The 5’10″ athletic wing/forward shared the ball and scored a high percentage of field goals. The mature player’s jumper was fluid and he knew it.

Marques Watson (NY) – This NYC guard was another impressive player who put on a show. He played a fancy but fundamental game. He had a deceptive handle and lighting speed first step.

James West (VA) – This kid is special. He never let the competition rattle him. He’s a good decision maker and has a natural feel for the game.

Alonzo Verge (IL) – He soaks information like a sponge. He was one of the best one on one players but needs to embrace team concept to reach full potential.

Tyler Bourne (NY) – He represented Coney Island and all of Brooklyn. He did street moves like ‘Sham God’ to shake off defenders. He amazed the crowd.

Jamal Nixon (IL) – He’s 5’10″ and growing. The wing showed ability to put the ball on floor. He cleaned glass on defense and got easy put backs on offense.

Jaiye Jinwright (NJ) – The 5’6″ combo guard has the total package. He saw the floor well and looked to run a fast pace game. He slides his feet and doesn’t reach on defense.

David Vasquez (OR) – He looked as if he’s been in the lab. He showed nice separation moves and his shot fell on both days of camp. He’s destined to make it.

Jordan Rowell (IL) – The 6’0″ athlete played on all cylinders. He was physical on all possessions. Rowell had presence down low, he blocked shots, rebounded and finished well at rim.

MSE 4th Graders (No particular order)

Kolin Lewis (MD) – He’s capable of playing all five positions. The 5’4 versatile athlete has good instinct. Lewis managed to have his way on the basketball court. It’s no doubt that he will go far.

Keion Brooks (IN) – Put this 5’7″ kid on top of the charts. He drained threes consistently. He filled the stat sheet with Kevin Durant numbers. He gets nod for best player in his division at camp.

Jordan Montgomery (CA) – Equipped with immaculate skills, the Young Baller went straight to work. Battle tested, Montgomery played with a die-hard mentality. He took on all defenders and didn’t shy away from body contact.

Tyler Brelsford (DC) - He’s a smart player who confronted the situation. He recognized mismatches and fed big men in the post. He took full advantage of the national spotlight and got big time exposure.

Gabriel Jimerson (VA) – He’s 5’5 and plays the 1, 2 & 3 position. On fast breaks he made the middle and outlet pass. He also made tough lay ups with his weak hand. Look out for him.

AJ White (IN) – Has a football built with basketball skills. He commands respect and is difficult to contain. He looks to strike from the wing and baseline area. He’s a good executor.

Richie Thompson (Canada) – He may grow as tall as his dad who is 6-6. Thompson gave his team the push needed when it counted. Once he adjusted there was no stopping him.

Sean Q Willis (IL) – He pushed the rock in a blur and quickly found the open man. He played aggressive defense and scored in multiple ways. He has a good point guard skill set.

Kyree Banks (MD) – His crew made a lot of noise on day two of camp. The floor general always tried to beat the play. He proved to be a team leader by constantly communicating on offense and defense.

Simon Banks (IN) – He was a superior player at camp. Banks handled and shot the ball very well. He has good size and nice upside.

MSE 7th Graders (No particular order)

Sa’eed Nelson (NJ) - This kid delivered the goods. He played with enormous energy and confidence. He’s an excellent play maker and knows how to get teammates involved.

Devin Newton (CA) – He entered the camp with a big name and left with an even bigger game. He locked horns on defense. He took hits to the hard wood, but kept getting up.

Algevon Eichelberger (MI) – The 6’4 forward is a major prospect. He’s a strong player with a vertical dunk. Eichelberger had scouts interested.

Dillion Mitchell (TN) – The floor general dusted off opponents with ease. He’s a well rounded athlete who didn’t mind making the extra pass. He played calm under pressure and was a joy to watch.

Devin Clyburn (NY) – 6 foot 2 Cly is a rising star. He has good size and skill set. “He rebounded and handled looking like a young Lamar Odom, displaying more wing and mid-range skills.” He has tremendous upside.

Adam Perry (NJ) - The hefty lefty knows how to get to the rack. He got the outlet pass and scored in transition. He set screens for teammates and moved without the ball. He’s definitely a team player.

Daruis Chester (NY) – He got busy on both ends of the floor. He made strong drives to the basket and finished in traffic. He shot well from beyond the perimeter. Defensively he protected the passing lane and forced several turnovers.

Jervae Robinson (CO) – He’s considered one of the best prospects in the state of Colorado. Well, he held his own at camp. Robinson went head to head with star player Devin Newton.

Caron Corpening (NC) – He hasn’t slept, ever since the New York Daily News wrote about him being at camp. “It’s a wonderful feeling to go 12 hours plus, and have a NYC writer notice his skills,” Caron’s father Craig said.

Patrick Jamison (NJ) – Scouts say he was very impressive. “He showed no fear. He controlled the tempo and hit several long-range threes. He has a bright future.”

The MSE camp had its share of talented guards, forwards and big men for 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th grade. Many players traveled from 50 states in America including Hawaii; The District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.

MSE 5th graders (No particular order)

T. Remington Minor - It was Texas Chain Saw Massacre in NYC. Minor’s speed and quickness allowed him to slash the paint. Anyone could tell you he’s the truth. “I take this sport serious,” he said without smiling. His focus on and off court was most impressive.

Marquise Walker – This youngster is highly advanced for his age and still has a lot to learn. Walker currently holds the MSE national rankings #1 spot. In showcasing, he pulled the rabbit out the hat and used every trick in the book to keep position.

Rafael Jenkins - One of the toughest players and biggest talks of the camp was Jenkins from Charlotte, North Carolina. He’s an extremely crafty ball handler who dealt with whatever the defense threw his way. He enjoys distributing the pill and looks for his own shot opportunities.

Jordan Simmons – The shooting point guard from Illinois, Chicago plays a in-and-out game. He either absorbs contact to finish strong in the red or puts defenders on their heels and rises for a mechanical jump shot. He reminds us of a Russell Westbrook.

Kyler Kluge – His name is ringing bells across the country as a sharp shooter. He has a quick release and knack for swishing nets. He looks to immediately square up to the rim and flick his wrist. Keep eyes on Kluge from Bloomfield, Maryland.

El Khana Hidalgo - The New Jersey native was one of the best players in his division at camp. He was aggressive and scrappy on defense. We must say Hidalgo has a good offensive game. He demonstrated a high basketball IQ last weekend.

Rychael Ellis - Las Vegas wide body guard Ellis aka Macca didn’t waste any time attacking the paint and nailing treys. He has an all around game with good upside. Ellis was a standout player that caught scouts attention. He’s a name to remember.

Jalen Hosea – He came from Chi-Town to make a name for himself and we were watching. He handled the ball great especially under pressure and has a natural feel for the game. He surveyed the floor and made sweet dimes to open teammates.

Lunden Taylor - The new ‘Windy City’ face couldn’t chew bubble gum and tie shoes at the same time. Now young Taylor has a decent NBA range three that he launches if given a hair length of space. He plays defense good and uses a triple threat stance, before dribbling.

Atiba Taylor – He’s capable of competing with the best of them. The NY 2 guard went straight to work and did whatever he wanted on the court. He has nice size on this level and great potential.

(Photo of Sean Couch Bounce Magazine surrounded by campers)

Bottom line is the competition was top notch and kids had a world of fun. However, MSE got a good look at the campers and there were truly some special talent in attendance.

“It felt like I was on another planet,” 9th grader Isaiah Whitehead (NY) said, because his teammates were mostly from different states. Whitehead used a full arsenal to protect his turf.

New face 6th grader, Alonzo Verge (IL) 5-6 emerged as a crowd favorite at camp. The rebounding guard gave several New Yorkers a scare.

Featured 5th grader, Jordan Simmons who’s also from Chicago was extremely impressive; a deadly but silent assassin. He displayed the best perimeter shot form in a game.

Kyree Banks, 4th grader from Clinton, MD showed his worth in the point guard position. He sees the floor well and is patient with the rock. Remember the name. Mr. Banks told us “The camp had some bumps but you made the adjustments from day one to two” and ” The next one will be better.”

“We had an incredible experience playing in NYC. We learned about how other regions play. I’m glad to say we are right on schedule for where we want to be and coming to MSE confirmed that to our team. Hope to see you again at next years camp!” said Mr. Hudson father of 8th grader Chad Hudson from Louisville, Kentucky.

Kajuan Johnson 7th grader from Louisiana said, “I had one of the best times of my life” and his pops Mr. Johnson said, “We enjoyed the camp being that it was our first one and also the people up there were cool and I would like to use your camp as a stepping stone for my son to get into other venues.”

Around 9:00 am a gentleman gave prayer and at 9:10 am, Ms. Crosby, soulfully performed the National Anthem, Star Bangled Banner.

By 9:30 am, the players quickly spun into drills.

Kids shouted “five in the morning!” whenever the camp instructor asked “What time is it?”

After stretching and conditioning, campers ran laps, while MSE handed out Jersey’s – starting with the 4th graders.

We saw a lot of rising talent and action packed games. Check out this video of day 1 at camp envy.
