Algevon Eichelberger- 6’2″ Michigan State 7th Grader

MVP Algevon Eichelberger - Judges Court beat Show Time to win Championship at Eastern Michigan University.

Algevon Eichelberger (class of 2016) rocks from Saginaw, Michigan. He’s 6’2″ and in the 7th grade. He plays on two AAU teams: Judges Court & Saginaw Panthers.

Eichelberger, who has a 3.5 GPA attends North Saginaw Charter Academy. He was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society for being a straight ‘A’ student the entire school year.

Lindsey Hunter, a former NBA player for the Detroit Pistons and assistant coach for  Chicago Bulls said, “Algevon is a player I would love to coach in the future.”

Hunter saw Algevon play at the CAGE basketball gym in Swartz Creek, right outside of Detroit. After ‘Judges Court’ beat Hunters self-sponsored team he became very impressed.

At 12 years old, Algevon appears to have acquired a good skill set for his size. He can’t dunk yet, but he’s touching rim. As a top rated big man in the State of  Michigan, Mr. Eichelberger says, “I want my son to measure up against the best players in the nation.”

Take a look at one of Algevon’s You-Tube videos. He shows good feel for the game and persistence in the paint. Remember, we mentioned him first on!

Hello my name is Delovuun Blackmon. I played basketball in middle school and high school and I graduated in 1995. I received a basketball scholarship to XU in Louisiana. I was fortunate enough to play against some of the best basketball players of my time. I am saying this just to let you know that I know something about the game of basketball. Algevon is my nephew he is one of the hardest workers I have known to play the game. A few years ago I worked with him only for a couple of hours one day at the ymca. I showed him a basic up and under move. The next game he played in he shocked everyone when he did the move. I wasn’t there to see it but I heard his coaches went crazy asking him where he got it from. I am saying all this to show how easy it is to coach Gevon. He listens well and he catches on quickly. He is currently working on his ball handling and shooting skills. I am currently living in Las Vegas so I don’t get a chance to see him play now but I hear he is progressing quickly. I think my nephew will be one of the best players in the nation by the time he reaches his senior year in high school. His parents keep him grounded and they keep God first that being said I think he will be unstoppable.

How Awesome is our God to bless our family in such a way! The Word of God tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord! People, don’t be mistaken; when we say we teach our kids God first – you better believe it! See, you get out what you put in! If you puttin’ junk into your kids, what do you expect to get out? If you puttin’ in God, what do you expect to get out? The Word of God tells us in Matthew 7:11 (King James Version): 11 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” God bless you Gevon and may the blessings of the Lord overtake you! To God be the Glory!

I know for a fact Al is the best 7th grader in Mi. And he has a chance to hold that title as best player in his class through out high-school. I think he should be ranked on the national level, because he is an elite player. He will get more exposure nationally as he continues to play. Keep working hard Big Al. You have a bright future.

I am Algevon’s grandmother. I attend everygame my grandson plays. He has come along way. When he first started off playing basketball, he would grab the ball and run with it like football, it was hilarious. His mom Lakeity, my second daughter and father Algevon Sr, teaches him first of all about GOD, and staying on top of his school work. They teaches him about values, how to respect grownups, how not to talk back to adults, and most of all how blessed he is to have a loving family, a mom and dad that is there for him. They talk to him all the time about how a lot of moms and dads are not there at all for their children, also they make him understand how important it is for him to understand and appreciate everything that people are doing for him to make him a better ball player. He also get a lot of pep talk from me I am GRANNY (GLORIA BLACKMON). Luv you gevon GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU.

  4. Hey God Son and Great Nephew: I watched your video and oh so surpise to see how you have excelled in the game of basketball. If appears that we are going to be attending a lot of professional NBA games because the videos I see are awesome. I am so proud of you I can hardly believe what I’m seeing. Also, you are so blessed to have parents that are taking the time to out for you and with you to show you the right things in life and guide you in the right directions. There are so many young men out here that have parents that do not take one (1) minute out of their time to pay attention to there kids and I mean kids that might grow up to be something but the time is not not put in from the parent to make the kids feel they are somebody. So first and far most, we must give prasie to God and then your loving parents, aunt and Uncle and don’t forget your grandmother (Gloria Blackmon). May God bless you nephew in all your endeavors. Aunt Deanie.

  5. Hey God Son and Great Nephew: I am so proud of you and the videos are oh so awesome. May God bless your and your parents and don’t forget your loving Grandmother (Gloria Blackkmon) who is their for you every step of the way. Love you dearly. Auntie Deanie
