Algevon’s Grandmother Speaks (Gloria Blackmon)

I am Algevon Eichelberger’s grandmother. I attend every game my grandson plays.

He has come along way. When he first started off playing basketball, he would grab the ball and run with it like football, it was hilarious.

His mom Lakeity, my second daughter and father Algevon Sr, teaches him first of all about GOD, and staying on top of his school work.

They teach him about values, how to respect grownups, how not to talk back to adults, and most of all how blessed he is to have a loving family, a mom and dad that is there for him.

They talk to him all the time about how a lot of moms and dads are not there at all for their children, also they make him understand how important it is for him to understand and appreciate everything that people are doing for him to make him a better ball player.

He also gets a lot of pep talk from me I am GRANNY (GLORIA BLACKMON). Luv you gevon GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU.

He sounds like a great kid.

With good fortune, he’ll end up with that most coveted basketball honor of all for a Michigander kid: a scholarship offer from Tom Izzo and Michigan State!
