MSE National Basketball Camp Elite 7th Graders

Middle School Elite National Basketball Camp Elite 10 for the class of 2016

The MSE camp had its share of talented guards, forwards and big men for 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th grade.  Many players traveled from 50 states in America including Hawaii; The District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada.

MSE 7th Graders (No particular order)

Sa’eed Nelson (NJ) –  This kid delivered the goods.  He played with enormous energy and confidence.  He’s an excellent play maker and knows how to get teammates involved.

Devin Newton (CA) – He entered the camp with a big name and left with an even bigger game.  He locked horns on defense.  He took hits to the hard wood, but kept getting up.

Algevon Eichelberger (MI) – The 6’4 forward is a major prospect.  He’s a strong player with a vertical dunk.  Eichelberger had scouts interested.

Dillion Mitchell (TN) – The floor general dusted off opponents with ease.  He’s a well rounded athlete who didn’t mind making the extra pass.  He played calm under pressure and was a joy to watch.

Devin Clyburn (NY) – 6 foot 2 Cly is a rising star.  He has good size and skill set. “He rebounded and handled looking like a young Lamar Odom, displaying more wing and mid-range skills.”  He has tremendous upside.

Adam Perry (NJ) –  The hefty lefty knows how to get to the rack.  He got the outlet pass and scored in transition.  He set screens for teammates and moved without the ball.  He’s definitely a team player.

Daruis Chester (NY) – He got busy on both ends of the floor.  He made strong drives to the basket and finished in traffic.  He shot well from beyond the perimeter.  Defensively he protected the passing lane and forced several turnovers.

Jervae Robinson (CO) – He’s considered one of the best prospects in the state of Colorado.  Well, he held his own at camp.  Robinson went head to head with star player Devin Newton.

Caron Corpening (NC) – He hasn’t slept, ever since the New York Daily News wrote about him being at camp.  “It’s a wonderful feeling to go 12 hours plus, and have a NYC writer notice his skills,” Caron’s father Craig said.

Patrick Jamison (NJ) – Scouts say he was very impressive.  “He  showed no fear.  He controlled the tempo and hit several long-range threes.  He has a bright future.”

  8. BallMan says:

Much respect to MSE and all the young ballers that attended the National Camp. I think with National Rankings though that MSE and other “national” sites should make certain to tell the reader if they are ranking players based on reputation or just the best they have seen.
I follow youth hoops very closely in nearly every region of the country and it’s funny to me how some kids are “nationally ranked” and are not even the top player on their travel teams.
Most of these are good players and I am not here to bash the players. But, it damages the reputation of MSE as credible when coaches, parents, players etc hear about the site and review the content to find decent local kids getting national publicity when they are not top 10 in their own city.
