Heart over Height

Class of 2023, combo guard, Carlos Abarca from Virginia is a hard working student more than an athlete. He has a high IQ on-and-off the court. Fundamentally, he develops his game using advanced education and training.

Last year, Abarca peformed impressively at the MSE VA camp as a fifth grader.

The young scholar attends Glasgow Middle School in Virginia where he has achieved several academic rewards.

Abarca parents said, “he strives to do his best in the classroom and meet our grade expectations so he can play basketball.”

“We have a higher expectation than the school system to qualify in any extracurricular activities.”

Duke, Georgetown and Maryland are colleges in his dream’s path. Abarca’s  long term goals are playing professionally overseas or the NBA.

“His education is the foundation to his success in life.”
