Bmore finest Is No More

FullSizeRender (5)“The 3rd place national champs bmore finest is no longer with that organization but still bmore base “Team Thrill” with NBA and Bmore native up coming star Will “The Thrill” Barton,” said Team Thrill, the new AAU program.

In what will be a significant shift in the national landscape of grassroots basketball, former BMore’s Finest Grassroots Coordinator and Head Coach for the classes of 2021 and 2024, Donnell “Mookie” Dobbins, has been appointed to Program Director for the Baltimore based AAU Club “Team Thrill”.

The program inherits its name from Baltimore native and Denver Nuggets swingman Will “The Thrill” Barton, who is the founder of the the program and a member of the Under Armour family. Though “Team Thrill” will be a newcomer to the UA Association with the foundation already being built they will make an immediate impact.

After an intense season, both of the Dobbins coached teams made it to the Division I AAU National Final Four and have gained notoriety on the national circuit due to their relentless style of play and “refuse to lose” attitudes.

“Team Thrill” will feature nationally ranked teams in the classes of 2025, 2024, 2021 which is headlined by its dynamic back court of Dajuan Lane and top ranked Samartine “Fatman” Bogues , who happens to be the grandson of NBA great Muggsy Bogues. However, Fatman isn’t the only player from the program receiving national acclaim. Amongst others are Tyler Boston, Tyler Jackson, Jaden Colzie, and Daquan Davis. Ahmad Harrison and Christian Moore have established themselves as top 20 players in the class of 2021 with their standout performances at AAU Nationals. Chris Winborne, Malik Missouri, Jalen Bryant, and Rayuan Lane have also raised eyebrows with their outstanding play during the season.

The Class of 2022 features all around phenom Jarace Walker.  There’s nothing Walker can’t do on the court, which he put on display at top notch tourneys. Many consider him to be the most complete player in the class. The class of 2025 unit is full of talent and the addition of KeMori Collins and Ahmad Evans has propelled this group to elite status. Omarr Smith has earned a Top 10 National Ranking after his standout performances at King James and AAU Nationals, where he led his team to an Elite Eight run. The most impressive “Team Thrill” roster may be the newly constructed  2020 class will be headlined by a trio of battle tested guards in Adrian Baldwin, the always impressive Jordan Toles and Rahim Ali Jr.

The facts of this article should have been researched prior its publishing. Contrary to what this article tries to portray, the departure of Mookie and his 3 feeder teams did not dismantle a program that was well established before we decided to make him a part of it. Moreover Coach Mookie was just that, a coach. He was not a coordinator for a feeder program at BMore’s Finest. Everything else (I.e. the kids and affiliations) will speak for itself in the upcoming weeks.

Nike to Melo to Metro Prep to Team Thrill in 3 weeks. I wish him the best and hope he finds whatever it is he is looking for.
