8th grade, Anthony Bowen, is a tough combo-guard from Peach state Georgia. The average thirteen-year-old player maintains a 3.4 G.P.A. He believes school is first as an elite student athlete.
Bowen is able to play the 1 position as a natural shooting guard. He’s able to shoot the ball from long and midrange and finish around the rim . He’s a high IQ, instinctive player who easily out thinks his opponents
So how does Bowen’s parents balance his hectic basketball life? Bowen’s dad says, “I preach to him that he’s a student athlete, no matter how great of an athlete he may be, without a good academic foundation it could determine the difference between a premier D1 school versus a smaller college.”
On the other hand, Bowen must get stronger and bigger. “He hasn’t hit a big growth spurt yet although average height for his age. He needs to get stronger,” Mr. Bowen added.
Scrappy Bowen’s dad is 5’11” and mother 5’9″. His doctor predicts that he’ll be 6’1″.
Bowen was selected All-Tournament at the HoopSeen Georgia Cup, winning the championship game and leading his team while averaging 16 points and 5 assist. He averaged 20 points and was victorious in several following finals. He’s scheduled to attend some official showcases next month.
Bowen’s goals are to attend the University of Oregon and be mentioned among the top players in class of 2021 on Middle School Elite and ESPN high school rankings.
