Nunez is All That
Austin Nunez, class of 2022, led his 6th grade basketball team to victory at the AAU Nationals.
He averaged 19 points per game, 3 steals, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
A quick starter, Nunez began the first 45 seconds of the championship game by scoring 3 threes and a lay up.
Nunez is a resident of the Texas suburb, Garden Ridge. He attends Randolph Middle School, where he’s a top student, earning A and B grades.
Nunez credits the team’s victory to Coach Booman, who rigorously trained Nunez and his teammates twice a week.
“It was worth all the hard work my teammates and I put in all year…These guys are my brothers and we grind together so we can play hard…and be successful.”
Nunez has set realistic goals for himself. He wants to continue to play basketball at the next level, enter a leading university, such as UCLA, Texas or Kentuck; and eventually, earn a degree in business.
Nunez is grateful for his talent as a hooper, but believes that strong academics is the key to a successful future and character shows what type of person you are and will always be.
