Front-Page Elijah
4th-grade, Elijah Jimenez from Richmond, California turns up for the 10-and-under MVP Flight Elite team stationed in Walnut Creek.
Competing with a serious chip on his shoulder, Jimenez has a chock-full of talent compared to kids his age.
At multiple west coast showcases the crowd lauded Jimenez’s killer-instinct and playmaking prowess.
And coaches praised his gamesmanship and serene demeanor.
Jimenez is a scholar-athlete at Montessori Family Private School, bringing home excellent letter grades, and Math and History are his favorite subjects.
Jimenez’s first-quarter report card has his teacher’s guileless comments:
“Elijah is diligent about correcting errors so he moves forward at a good clip. In literature circles he has been a positive contributor and showed insight into a rather challenging novel. He is confident and shows leadership potential. His first literature essay was strong and demonstrated his understanding of the material. He loves research, particularly about snakes! Socially, he works well with a variety of his peers, is helpful, and abides by our classroom agreements of grace and courtesy. He is quiet, observant and fair. He has done solid work so far this fall, and it is a pleasure to have him in our community.”
Jimenez’s dream college is the University of North Carolina, and his occupational niche is a NBA player and Snake handler.
